The Helix 2 has been released, so it's not even the latest Thinkpad, and it's not even in the same product category.
The Helix is a 2-in 1 tablet, and one of the most badass at that. You have to compare this thing to an iPad.

It doesn't surprise me honestly, Lenovo has one of the worst quality control out of any company I've ever seen.
Back when I was doing research for buying a laptop it wasn't uncommon to see a Lenovo laptop only rack in a 2.5-3/5 star review average (even for their higher end models) because so many people have had issues with them.
Kind of disappointing too, because I've tried out their Thinkpads a few times before and the ones I've tried that worked were very nice.

Apples idea is to make a good product and make it look really good.
In the process of making it thin, they prefer making it so difficult to open that they will simply replace it. Therefore, thay can make it look neatx because it will never be opened and disassembled.
