Why the fuck are you comparing the newest Windows version and the newest OS X version to an old and outdated version of KDE?
Why is there a thread like this at the top of /g/ every day? I boot up my computer within a few seconds, get to web browsing, gaming, music, streaming, torrenting, coding within a few seconds, without any interruptions or restrictions. My desktop looks and feels exactly how I want it to (a point lost on many simpletons like OP who think criticising one particular desktop setup is an attack on the OS and not the fool who configured it that way).
The only explanations I can think of for the constant stream of stupid FUD threads is either a highly committed troll, or Microsoft maintaining their astroturfing, and trying to manipulate the chorus so that /g/ (a significant ingress point to the linux world) has nothing but posts mocking Linux.
Given how MS very obviously controls the chorus on reddit (whatever product their marketing push is behind tends to appear a lot on the front page of reddit), and likewise all over /g/, I can only conclude that there's some drone sitting in a cubicle in Microsoft's marketing department, making post after post every day desperately trying to slander the competition, and keep those precious tech-inclined people locked into the Windows cage, so that some kind of life will remain in the dead horse. An actual troll would use better bait for a start.
