really anon ?
REALLY, you haven't ?

Skylake does NOT intentionally prevent the installation of anything. The only thing that's changed is the dropping of native USB2 support. Old Windows installers apparently can't handle USB3.

You can still install Win7 from optical disk or network boot, as long as you have a non-USB keyboard lying around.

Dropping support for obsolete legacy shit (USB2) is a good thing.

There's been plenty of threads about exactly this.

Well they got me there, better embrace the botnet.

Is never installing botnet.

You're a moron. I've counted at least 10 threads since I heard the news. This would be the 11th.

>Dropped the must used peripheral standard on the planet is a good thing.
Is this bait? I mean a USB3 controller is natively backwards compatible with USB2. The same way USB2 is backwards compatible with USB1.X The processor would have to go out of its way to make USB2 not work.

I have a 6700k/Fury X and Win10 Pro so idc lil nigga

>30x better graphics
>3x battery life

That's just blatantly false. That's the level of deception that only happens at apple genius stations where they lie to old ladies into wasting hundreds of dollars

USB contoller is backwards compatible but chipset drivers in w7 installer is not forwards compatible. You have to load compatible XHCI drivers during the install if you want to install from/to a usb drive.
>>
>>52509168
This shouldn't be an issue for people using w8. W7 with hardware built past 2013 is plainly retarded, so there is no other alternative besides w8.
>>
>>52509382
It's not an issue for anyone. Install from DVD to a hard disk and setup drivers after the install and everything werks.
>>
>>52507146

Literally dozens of threads, OP.
>>
>>52509403
That would be an issue for me actually. For some reason any optical drives that I install, do not work as should 80% of the time if they are even recognized by the computer itself to begin with. Yes there are several alternatives but usb is so damn fast and convenient.
>>
>>52509382
But I like Windows 7. 8's design is disgusting, and compatibility with older games is already bad enough in 7, no need to make it worse.
>>
>>52509601
It still shouldn't be an issue because it's not hard to slipstream drivers to usb installation media.

Just use Dege's wrapper and you are good to go. I ran most obscure 3D games with it and it was perfect.
>>
>>52509722
I'm still disgusted by 8's design and the classic shell that doesn't quite look the same. I may just have to give up on that sweet 7% increase.
>>
>>52509635
No one uses the touch screen interface unless they are using a tablet, the other interface is like w7 except you right click on the start menu instead of left click.
>>
>>52507146
nigga there's been plenty of threads

>right clicking
I didn't know about that, ew. That bullshit, combined with the knowledge that it isn't 7, would kill it for me. And 10 is botnet. Are there any USB 3.0 drivers for 7 at all?

If you have decent and at somewhat recent hardware, you'll see the difference is not just something simple as a gain of x%, it's a gain in brute performance, everything gets harder, better, faster, stronger.
