(pretty soon they'll have a monopoly on processors)
>>52503730
but all 3 of those companies still make processors on a mass scale. And you forgot ARM
>>52503730
You can't goy
Stop buying from them, fucking duh. Jesus fuck. AMD is just as good anyway unless you're running shitty ancient software that doesn't multithread.
>>52503745
But not desktop ones, which is all that /g/ aka neo/v/ cares about.
>>52503730
why would you want to stop the best processor manufacturer?
>>52503792
and yet they are all posting on smartphones. what a strange time we live in.
>>52503777
>amd is just as good as intel
no it isn't.
>>52503814
Because a terrible business with good products is still a terrible business.
>>52503827
I've never posted on a smartphone in my life, get at me goyim and even if I did I have a Zen phone 2 :^)
>>52503827
I almost exclusively post from my desktop
>>52503792
the smallest market
>>52503730
Spread the knowledge and awareness of their racist hiring practices. Piss people off at them.
If your white, Asian and male you have damn good reason to never buy anything from them.
>>52503745
IBM doesn't. They PAID Global Foundries $1.5 billion to take the chip division.
>>52503777
>AMD is just as good anyway
AMD hasn't been worth a shit since socket A.
>>52504084
>implying s939 wasn't great
>>52504084
That's a funny way to spell socket 939.
>>52503730
The problem is even worse than you think. Both Intel and AMD only produce backdoored anti-freedom processors these days.
>>52504199
>>52504208
939 was unusable, nothing but blue screens. That's when I went Intel and haven't had any issues since.
>>52503814
no competition in capitalism means no reason to advance so long as you're still making lots of money
>>52504268
There hasn't been any real competition in over a decade and they're still advancing.
>>52504297
>skylake is only a 2% improvement over broadwell
Sure, they're still advancing, just very very slowly, amirite?
>>52504251
>get one instance of defective hardware
>blame the entire socket rather than just cash in on the warranty
The proper time to switch was at the end of s939, which neatly coincided with when Intel introduced the Core 2 line.
>>52503841
>>52504268
nobody cares about the business
>>52503730
Apple and IBM should be on the same tier with Motorola.
>>52503730
>(pretty soon they'll have a monopoly on processors)
What year is it?
>>52503777
>AMD is just as good
I wish...
My first own computer had an AMD Athlon 650 MHz CPU. Shit was high-end as fuck back in 1997-1998 (or so)
>Stopping Intel from becoming a monopoly
why?
>>52504827
>wanting intel to have a monopoly on CPUs
good goy
>>52504827
Intel is known for being a very shady company with anti-competitive strategies. Given the fact that they also own patents for all sorts x86, one would not want them to have a monopoly.
They could jack up the prices and we wouldn't be able to do anything about it. A competitor cannot just jump up, because of the aforementioned patent issue. Even if one did, Intel would probably eat them up before they could really compete on the market.
>>52504875
you have to be 18 to post here
>>52504877
that's a valid argument, the cunts would ask us to sign our kidneys away for the processors
>>52503730
They HAVE monopoly de facto. They need AMD so it wouldn't be de jure.
>>52504907
>They HAVE monopoly de facto. They need AMD so it wouldn't be de jure.
Yes and no. I believe that if they had an actual monopoly, they would jack up the prices even more. The fact that some people still consider AMD to be a decent alternative is what keeps Intel's prices a bit down.
>>52503792
Your trip fits your personality well, but you misspelled faggot.
>>52504952
>misspelled
lol learn 2 right properly retard
>>52504923
Intel has around 95% marketshare in servers. Go check the pricing of Xeons these days. I'll wait. They're about 10-15% marketshare away from doing that for desktops too.
>>52504827
What motivation do they have to improve products and lower prices if there's no competition?
The good old times
>>52503777
>how to stop Monsanto?
>stop buying seeds and fertilizers from them
>Literally 99.9% of the world is "boycotting " Monsanto as we speak
>still growing strong
This is your flawless logic put to use.
>>52503814
Good goy
>>52504228
If you don't like it, you don't use it ;) Make one yourself then ;) IntMD, Freedom CPUs!
>>52504998
get out a 4b pencil and connect the busses...
>>52503730
>pretty soon
You dumb
>>52503730
You buy, fund or promote a fucking alternative chip or shut the fuck up, you dumb consumertard.
They already have had a practical monopoly on high-end consumer shit since the beginning of PC clones anyway, deal with it.
>>52503730
>what is ARM
OP you suck dicks and are retarded
