I was thinking something like this but dont really know how to implement it.
1) Store the hashed passwords and usernames
2) Procedurally generate the tables and save the random seeds used to generate the tables to the accounts.
3)Make procedural generator able to generate dynamically sized tables, save the table size with the seeds on the accounts.

Use a 2d array of strings for the users following the format
"username", "password", "time", "dimension", "difficulty", "score"
Use two 2d arrays of ints for the game board. A solution board and a user viewable board.
-1 represents +, -2 represents -, -3 represents x and -4 represents a black square.
Set up the array top be n * n
for every cell except those in the last column or row
if the row is even put a random operator in odd(y) cells, put a random number in even(y) cells
if the row is odd put a random operator in even cells(y), otherwise a black square
Once youre done calculate the answer boxes, remember to use bodmas
that should be a good start
ps its probably not worth your time to write a method of regenerating a grid from a seed. Just save both grids in a text file or something.

He's supposed to allow for the ability to randomly generate an n*n grid and recall it. Using a seed to generate the grid and then storing the seed is the easiest way to do this.

The board is stored as an array. It then increments up to size^2. It checks if the incremented number is on the last column/row. If so it does all the calculations in that column/row and stores it in the last cell of the column/row.
It can't do subtraction yet because subtraction is a lot harder to implement that the associative operators.
