I'm thinking of getting an LG G4 is it better than an iphone?
bretty gud if you like androids. I really like the screen and the removable battery
>>52501112
I'm typing this on a G4 right now and can in fact confirm it's a great Android. However a glaring issue on it is that one of the gimmicks, the ability to tap the screen twice in order to unlock it, hardly works (like maybe 8% of the time)
>>52501287
what about roms & kernels, does it have a decent amount of shit being developed for it?
>>52501490
Dont do that to phones.
>>52501287
Works fine on mine. Very rare that it doesn't.
Maybe your taps are the problem
>>52501490
Not really bootloader is locked
You can root and get xposed
>>52501287
I find that it doesn't work if you have your hand over the prox sensor up top. Check your grip.
>>52501529
ok mom
It was loads better than the iPhone 6 but its about on par with the 6S.
the screen is really good but the battery life is so so.
>>52501653
Battery is godlike
>>52501682
Inb4 it turns out that you put it in airplane mode when you're not actually using jt
>>52501112
Yeah if you want 5 hours of battery
>>52501682
Show SoT.
>>52501287
Stop using sausage fingers, tap it with the tip of your fingers and not youe fingerprint
>>52501112
I like the camera with the advanced features, it almost feels like my x t10.
>pic was taken by my roomates shitty phone for convenience
>>52501737
Always full brightness.
>>52501287
works fine in my g2 with cm13
Posting from the V10, so if the G4's anything like this it's breddy guud. Also, "better than IPhone" isn't saying much
>>52501287
The main issue is that unless you get a case you can't use it laying flat on a table as it rocks.
>>52501759
So do you just not use it while the screen is on? I average around 5-6 hours on mine on auto brightness. I have squeezed 8 hours of it before though.
>>52501789
G4 here, jelly of V10
>>52501789
V10 is just the g4 with an extra screen
>>52501796
If the screen is on it's because I'm using it.
Leave wifi and bluetooth (for my watch) on too. Lasts 3 or 4 days usually, battery monitor reads the values wrong sometimes (you can see it charges itself when screen is off somehow )
>>52501844
Do you get some sort of self-esteem boost by lying to strangers on the internet?
>tfw I got this bad boy off ebay for $254
It wont arrive until tomorrow thanks to black people holiday, fuck I hope its as good as it looks in pics
>>52501862
Why would I lie?
What would I gain?
Just giving advice to OP
>>52501112
Bird shit is better than an iPhone. Ask a real question.
OP here
from what it looks like the phone seems a lot better than my iphone3g so ill probably get this tomorrow after work
>>52501112
What do you guys think of the asus zenphone 2?
>>52501882
That's my point. You have nothing to gain, so why do it? Every other G4 owner will tell you that you'll only get around 5 hours SoT with average use.
You're either charging periodically throughout the day, leaving your phone's screen on to rack up the time with minimal battery drain, or using a battery case, such as a ZeroLemon.
>>52501870
Enjoy it. It's a nice phone, though it isn't as much of an improvement over the G2 as I hoped it would be.
>>52501916
Bezels are WAY too fucking huge, and its stupid to have a removable back with no removable battery
I actually switched to an LG G4 from an iPhone 6, and yes I love it way more. I only use the phone to text/internet though so my input isn't as informative as other posters.
>>52501957
Yes I have a zerolemon case, I assumed most G4 users took advantage of the replaceable battery.
That's the main feature you see greentext about, along with SD card
A few dozen people on the g4 reddit thread have the dreaded bootloop. So you may want to be mindful of that if you get the g4.
It's not guaranteed to happen, it's just some rev 1.0 models manufactured in May or September 2015 have done it
>>52501287
Works well on my g3. Works well on my buddies g4. Maybe you need some training grandpa.
>>52501112
Someone please tell me how to Root the Sprint G4 and install Xposed!
I've gone through 3. The first two would over heat and have vertical screen freezing issues but the third is holding up fine so I think I just had terrible fucking luck.
>>52501682
>>52501759
Now stop trolling and show gsam stats like mine pictured (from my g4)
>>52501287
Somebody suggested tapping three times and it changed my life
>>52502103
I don't have battery programs installed I never need to worry
This is useless since I just installed
I was going to get 2 G4's.
But I just read about the G5 coming out and that thing looks amazazing.
Battery/Simcard/SdCard SLIDE OUT of the fucking phone.
Fingerprint + Retina scanner
5.3 inch
8k display
16Gigs of RAM
256GB of storage
MagicJack slot for free phonecalls
Fleshlight extention
Touch your dick and cum instantly feature.
>>52502268
Still green bubble in imessage
>>52502268
>8k display
>16Gigs of RAM
>256GB of storage
>MagicJack slot for free phonecalls
>Fleshlight extention
>Touch your dick and cum instantly feature.
probably cost more than a vertu
>>52501529
A phone is your property to do with as you wish, like a wife or slave.
>>52501870
>tfw got mine brand new for free + VZW paid me $20
The jewest thing I've ever done, but man does it feel good.
LG related question:
I have a d850, which is shit in NZ as it doesn't pick up 900mhz 3g. I plan to switch to a f400L, how well will it perform on 2degrees? (nz mobile carrier)
>>52502413
Jewing jews seems like it just cancels itself out, so you're all good there
>>52501112
Depends on what you want to do with it. If its only for calls, texts, and facebook get an iphone. But if you want to maybe tinker with custom roms, use apps like drive droid, use it as an obd scan tool, play webms, basically anything more advanced then g4 is better.
>>52501808
G3 here, jelly of G4.
15 hour battery life
>>52501558
Not on T-Mobile or international
>>52502678
But its cheaper than an iphone and has a lot more features. Not to mention its not made out of fucking aluminium and chinese glass
>>52503270
The g4 is pretty sweet.
I got my gf one and replaced the back with the brown leather. It looks really chic and the brown leather with the gold buttons/camera trim match her backpack. It also feels really nice, like you want to hold it just to touch it. It also has one of the top cameras in the smartphone world right now.
Needless to say, she absolutely loves it. She even made use of the swappable battery feature on a recent trip - she used up all 64gb of the frigging microSD card on photos and video plus used the extra battery regularly.
>>52503387
Yeah i got the brown leather case for mine and im loving it, and its really easy to fill up those sd cards. My 64gb card has been filled up by all my music. I dont really play games on it so idk how it is in that aspect but it does everything i want out of it.
Op i say go for it, its got a spectacular camera and comes with 32gb and lg's ezhome or whatever beats the shit out of touchjizz. Only complaint is the size, i hate this trend of super big, super thin phones.
>>52501736
I use mine all day long and never falls below 50%. Maybe you should stick to subjects you know about.
>>52501759
>>52501682
I dunno why people say the G4 has bad battery life. I have one and can confirm it's excellent. Far better than the 5X I tried for a while.
>>52503387
Do the leather backs stay in shape for long periods of time or do they crumble at the corners after a few months?
>>52503517
A lot of people like to hate on LG UX (I think that's what it's called) but it's a LOT nicer than most, I think. Maybe the 'bubbly' look of the quick settings is a little weird but it's pretty snappy.
>LG G4 has bad battery
what is this meme
I very regularly go at least two days between charges on mine, and by the end of the second day I'm usually sitting at around maybe 20% left with 4-5h SOT. I guess that's not very heavy use, but when I'm at work I don't have time to use my fucking phone aside from my lunch break, so.
LG G4 battery is MORE than adequate and I don't think people who use their phones enough to kill a G4 in less than 24 hours are real people worth considering.
>>52501287
My double taps work 90% nothing to complain besides the camera is not that fast focus as they claimed
>2016
>spending more than $40 on a smartphone
>>52501831
More premium build and bigger.
>>52503553
Using it once a day isn't argument
I have the G4 for work, and an iPhone 6 for personal use.
The G4 is slick, plenty fast, and has a good screen. The only reason I bought it was that it has a detachable back so it was easy to pull out the cameras (work requirement). For the price, its just about flawless as far as Android goes.
iPhone, while offering no notable performance difference, does have much better color correction on the display. The most dramatic difference is the fit and finish; the case, screen and general "feel" of the iPhone is almost unrivaled.
If you don't hate apple, get the iPhone.
I was thinking about a Z5 compact. What are /g/s thoughts on this phone?
G3 here
Do you guys not change the DPI? i literally cant handle anything over 530
Extremely happy with my g4, way snapier than my old s5 and the s6 and the camera is just amazing, aside from the weird stabilization when you tilt the phone too quickly (causes a wobble effect)
The camera is super good.
>>52501957
With my G3 and a 6,000 mAh battery I only get 5-6 hours of SoT
is it worth going for the lg g3 (3gb ram version) over the g4?
>>52503553
People with lives don't hang around outlets and have screen on times of 10 hours
Not OP, what do you guys think of the Huawei P8? Looks really decent and has nice specs.
>>52507127
I'm loving the dof. I'm gonna get one soonish
>>52501112
Of course. Why is this a question again?
>>52507176
What do you do on your phone? I can get over 5hrs SOT from heavy use on stock battery
>>52507231
No, how would getting a shittier version be "worth it"?
