It's 2016 why does every major cell phone company still throttle our speeds? We should boycott this nonsense.
>>
I'm more concerned about if ComCast is bringing data caps to Seattle desu

Good luck getting the normalfags on board

>Google fiber comes out with 1,000 Mbit/s upload and download
>cell phone companies throttle Internet speeds to 200kbps

>>52499370
At least you have Comcast out there. I'm on the Olympic Peninsula and we only have Wave Broadband. Max speed is 110 mbps.

Because we're still using ancient LTE (ie not actual 4G) technology to provide wireless internet. Because of this towers easily become saturated with users downloading shit and therefore must punish users to keep the network stable for everyone else. Things would get really ugly if a single cell tower attempted to provide 10 Mbps to more than 10 clients at once because a single LTE tower has around 100 Mbps of bandwidth (all three 120° sectors combined).

Real 4G is supposed to deliver at least 1Gbps to a stationary client and at least 100 Mbps to a client in a moving vehicle. Real world speeds are estimated to be at least 100 Mbps for a stationary client. I also assume it will be able to deliver at least 1,000 Mbps of bandwidth per tower (hopefully more).

So why are some eurocucks enjoying unlimited and steady high speed LTE? Because there are less users connected to a tower at once (ie nobody really wants to live there).

However, some carriers have already rolled out a half baked solution to this problem in burgerland. They are slapping different LTE spectrums together and increasing how much pr0n you can download even if many users are connected to a tower at once. This is basically what Spark LTE and LTE-Advanced are.

Hopefully legitimate 4G comes into existence before 2020 and we can all get cheap unlimited high speed lte in burgerland and ditch cumcast for good.
>>
Because there are too many americucks. lte simply can't provide the raw bandwidth to all you fat fucks at once. This is why so few carriers have the balls to offer unlimited lte high speed lte to customers. Even those that do suffer overall slower network speeds for all.
>>
>>52501233
pretty much this
>>
What do you mean by "throttle"? Towers can only provide so much download speed so they automatically throttle to prevent network failure. A slow connection is better than no connection at all.

If you are referring to the data caps that leave you with dial up speeds after you use all your data then it's your fault for letting companies cuck you to death. Get an unlimited lte plan if that bothers you, i think t-mobile is like 80 bucks a month.

>anon boycotts every major phone company
>implying any of those will give the slightest fuck

Normie sheeplets won't boycott anything, that's why the current business models work so extremely well.
>>
>>52501592
It wouldn't matter if people did that. There are simply too many mouth breathers to provide fast lte speeds to. The only solution in place is carrier aggregation like tripfag said. But not all carriers (heh) have it and those that do don't cover more than major cities right now. On top of this it really is a half baked solution because different frequencies behave differently so you are not guaranteed to be able to receive all of them everywhere.

It comes down to politics: it is cheaper to buy a few senators than it is to build proper infrastructure.
>>
>>52501716
nigger did you not read the posts above you? Is reading this excruciatingly difficult for you?
>>
>>52501716
What kind of infrastructure did you have in mind? Because all the ones in place suck balls and giving wireless high speed internet to a place like new york city is a fucking technological nightmare.

lol sucks to be you. I'm getting up to 50mbps over lte and the slowest speed I've ever recorded was like 42mbps.

>$80 a month for Internet on his cellphone
>not getting cucked to death
>>
>>52501893
It wouldn't work. You can't guarantee a specific fast speed over lte because the more people using the network, the slower everyone's speed will become.
>>
>>52501975
You're not guaranteed a specific fast speed for home Internet either, you're guaranteed up to that speed.
>>
>>52501966
Well this is the price you pay for freedom. Take it or go fuck off to europe where muslims enforce their sharia law everywhere.
>>
>>52501995
I'll just continue spending half that much for a data cap I don't break
>>
>>52501988
True. But you get more consistent fast speeds over a wired connection because companies don't have to ration bandwidth as much.

If companies offered specific wireless speeds then they would be in deep shit because most of the time they wouldn't be able to maintain those speeds and people would go crying to the FCC all day long.

It would also complicate QoS further because now instead of normalizing the entire network, computers would have to attempt to individually give each customer a specific speed all the while not kicking users off the network.

Maybe carriers will one day sell specific network speeds with no data caps but not with lte. lte is shit.
>>
>>52499347
Because they have to you fucking stupid frogposter. If they didn't then people would be getting kicked off the network constantly.
>>
>>52501233
Thank US marketeers for allows 4G standards to be lowered.
Thank providers for drastically underestimating their expecting network workload.

I don't think we will ever get cheap and unlimited internet speed for a long while. Just look at fiber connection, that is STILL being throttled. Why? They still haven't found the bandwidth limits of fiber and ISPs are throttling speeds.
>>
>>52500356
Same here, I feel you man.
>>
>>52502713
You stupid fucking goy just need to stop worrying and pay your shekels.

We can only hope anon. I'd go completely wireless if mobile carriers could give me at least 4mbps of unmetered mobile hotspot.

This shit fucking sucks. I live in fear that I'll get a data cap any minute now. All the other cable ISPs are shit so I'll have no choice but to stay with these greedy fucks.

You americans need to learn to deal with your inferiority to us, all this envy putting down is getting pathetic, and makes you look desperate

120 shootings in Chicago since the start of the year and the month didn't even end, Europe is totally preferable.

Yes because all 3.5 million square miles of the US are big cities filled with niggers

There are small cities too, you're right about the full of niggers part though. I prefer my place to be without weekly school shootings and SJW love, thanks

Companies in Germany start to throttle to 32 kbps here. It's so bad that websites give you a timeout, if you try to load them.
