No joke, that's kind of an AMD thing

at that price range you choose between shitty hardware or overheating hardware.

How good is your case airflow? Does do an alright job at removing hot air from your GPU?

Anyways you did pick a smaller 390, the larger ones have larger and better coolers.

>believing AMD trolls that try to shill amd products
Why didn't you just buy a 970?

Either your drivers and some third-party app you've got installed (MSI programs, maybe?) are conflicting over fan control, or you've got a defective card. Even my 390x only hits ~65C under max load.
>>
Install Msi afterburner and set a more agrees ive fan profile.

Then get some better or more case fans

Maybe improve cable management a bit if you haven't already

sorry man, maybe next time

You're gonna be such a buttblasted little faggot when good games start using Vulkan and DX12 and you have to upgrade because your favorite company doesn't properly support async at all. Get fucked, nerd.
>>
My 290x crossfire hits only 69c max and that's on both cards. You are doing something wrong.

Did you buy the Gigabyte one?
You should have gone with the Sapphire R9 390 nitro.

>970
>idle at 0% fan speed @ 32C
>load at 59C with 46% fan speed

feels alright

The fractal r5 is poorly ventilated with only stock fans. Get fans for the top and side panels.

doesn't matter if it's Nvidia or AMD, Gigabyte is SHIT

if you want quiet get a Fractal R4 or R5 without a window, find the ones with sound dampers
