Spending money on something that's worth pennies, literally pennies, and not making your own unlimited supply:

http://cansofbeans.tumblr.com/post/59612351399/making-nib-pens-tutorial-review

Been doing that for a few years now, off one roll of trimmer line that cost $9, if I'd paid for the actual Wacom nibs I'd have spent a thousand bucks.

DRIVES
My craigslist is so bad for drives it's not funny. Everyone wants more than retail. And I can't afford the $65/$85 for a new 2TB/3TB.
I just put in an offer for $40 on someone's 2TB FAEX (they're asking $89 but it's been up a month). If I don't get it I don't know what I'll do. Finishing this encode will let me clear up 30GB of source DVDs, but adding 6GB of encodes to the pile isn't helping.

Provided I couldn't save it, I guess I'd buy a Yamaha TRBX 305, and use the rest for a halfway decent envelope filter. The 505 would cost about $500, but it actually doesn't sound as good as the 305.

i see no reason as why it would not count.

Everything ever that can be conceptualized, even on a purely theoretical basis, and which has been produced by or directly used by people is technology. An acoustic guitar is also technology, as are its strings and the techniques used to produce them.
