What is the best graphics card for under $300?
>>
>>52484627
The one that is the closest in price to your set GPU budget.

It doesn't matter. None of these comparisons matter. You'll get the same performance.
>>
I got this card evga geforce gtx 970 04g-p4-3975-kr 4gb ssc gaming w/acx 2.0+, whisper silent cooling graphics for $300 and it is the shit!
>>
>>52484627
get a 970 and dont look back
>>
>>52484741
Except the first few DX12 games are going to hit in the coming months and you'll be wishing you picked up a R9 390 instead.

Picking up a 390 would do good for a while.

how many fucking numbers do you need to say "a 970"
>>
>>52484930
Except you'd need to upgrade your PSU and case to power that thing and keep it at least somewhat cool, and install massive amounts of noise deadening material to keep it quiet.
A 970 is the superior option if you value having working drivers, too.

Windows 10 says hello. DX12 says hello.

500w PSU works fine.

Powercolor came as an underdog and now they're one of the better AMD aftermarket card maker.
>>
>>52485287
Show me those sick DX12 games, bro.

>coming months
Can't read can you?

If you're impatient, there's already some benchmarks from early DX12 games benchmark from Ashes of Singularity and Fable Legends.

>but those aren't released and therefore don't count
If you don't plan on playing future games, 970 is a fine product. 390 is still better even on legacy DX11 games. Go on with your "muh drivers" bullshit.
>>
>>52485385
>just wait bro you'll see
Yeah, nah. Every time that's been suggested with any AMD product, it's been nothing but a disappointment.

AMD released 290/x to beat 780ti years ago. It now beats 970 and will have equivalent power to 980 in DX12.

How is that a disapointment? Meanwhile, nVidia cards are depreciated faster than an eye can blink with each driver update making it worse. With no stable Windows10 drivers or any DX12 drivers.

They are literally holding all the games hostage because of their driver issues.
>>
>>52485468
"Beat" I think you mean comparable performance
im not that other guy in case it matters
>>
Second hand or Retail?

You can try to find a 780 ti,970,290,290x or 390 for less than $300 and be fine but it really depends on what psu you already have so you dont go spending on a new psu too.

At retail there's pretty much the 380 and 380x under $300

I got my r9 390 for $285 after some magic and time...
>>
>>52485287
Powercolor make good cards they just too damn big to fit in case sometimes so they lose before the fight even began to other manufacturers that just fit.

Enjoy running out of vram in less than a year

380X i'm not even joking

my 380 4gb kicks ass but this 380x thing is just awesome.
>>
>>52487754
My nigga. I went a bit cheap and got the XFX version though. Serves me well enough and was a nice improvement over my previous HD 6770.
>>
voting 970 here...

970
>>
>>52484627
390 short and simple. The 970 is great for less than 3.5gb and all but in raw power the 390 beats it. Sure you consume 50-80w more but you're on a desktop.
>>
R9 390
Pretty much same price bracket, best performance of said bracket, 8GB VRam is a good investment for the future. Best GPU on the market right now.
>>
390 or wait for new stuff. The 970 was a shit purchase a year ago, let alone now.
>>
I'm glad that i chose 290 tri-x instead of gtx 770 in 2013.
>>
>>52484707
Is shit*
>>52484627
R9 390 is the way to go.
>>
>>52484707
Yeah I have to agree I'm running that same card on my desktop build and it sings, another bonus is the Nvidia Geforce app, the shadowplay and day one drivers really sell me on Nvidia.

970 regularly goes on sale for $200~$230 now.

Sell the bundled $60 game for $40 and you can get yourself a 970 for $160.
