UMPC. A very cool idea when it release to the world. Unfortunately, it need to die so new technology can grow from it like tablet and smart phone.

I own few UMPC in my collection. As of now, this is what I have in my collection.
*OQO Model 02
*Samsung Q1
*Sony Vaio UX Micro PC (VGN-UX380N)
*Sony U-series (VGN-U71P) I own 2 units and it's the one you see in the image.
*Sony Vaio C1 series (PCG-C1VN) Picturebook what they call.

Unfortunately, it's not worth the money you spend as people are trying to sell it in ridiculous price now.

Is there any homebrew development going on with the Cybiko? I'm sure it could be a pretty awesome anti-NSA tool if it was repurposed.

>anti-NSA

Its communication uses super low power short wave radio, and its not encrypted. Not much to be used there.

I bought a cybiko for like £10 a few months ago.

Sadly it seems the homebrew community died ages back.

...this friggin' picture. Every-time. These pictures I should say.

So how much did you get yours for anyways? I'm still waiting for a semi-deluxe deal on ebay or something.

Did you have to clean it all up inside and out? Does it run well?

Yes I am jealous.

£80 for the base system, pic related.
I spent £30 on the mouse, £60 on the glass printer stand, another £60 on the printer. And god knows how much on memory chips to populate its intel above board.

Keep an eye on estate sales and other local happenings, you might land one for next to nothing and it's the best time to be finding these.

Lots of people who are dying off now took home their PCs/XTs/ATs from their workplaces and kept on using them up until the end of the century. I got pic rel for $50 from the estate of a man who was using it up until some time between 2005 and 2010 when he couldn't get down the stairs to the basement anymore.

Also have another XT I snagged for $10 off of a local auction.
