You don't judge a business by its popularity. You judge it by how much money it brings in. You could have 99% marketshare but if your revenue is $1 annually, you're not actually doing much better than a lemonade stand.
At most you could argue the /potential/ for revenue streams, in the same way that SV startups are invested into today. But you'd have to be pretty fucking stupid to think that Snapchat has "won" anything as it stands. They just have a decent chance at "winning", if they can figure out a way to actually monetize their userbase significantly.
And obviously iphones are much fucking better at monetizing their userbase than android is
