Yea 4yrs ago my parents got Comcast internet only 25/10 for $75/mo, about a year ago Comcast sent them a letter saying that their modem did not support the increased speeds of their plan. Once the new modem was installed they got 100/20 for that same $75/mo.
For as much shit as people give Comcast its nice to know they aren't complete assholes, because other than Frontier DSL 6/2 for $30/mo there are are ZERO other high-speed internet options in my city of 120,000 people, which is pretty sad. My Sprint LTE literally faster than the Comcast alternative.

That's not really the point, data caps don't actually do anything.
I would be fine if they had a 500GB a month data cap between 6 and 11pm. Because prime time traffic CAN actually cause network congestion for everyone. HOWEVER middle of the night and during the morning and mid day? That should be unrestricted, the network infrastructure is in place and paid for, there is no need to cap data during these hours because it doesn't cost your ISP and more or less to NOT have data during off-peak hours.
Blatant data caps are fucked up, smart data caps during peak hours I can live with and understand, but I personally would obviously prefer no data caps at all.
At the end of the day though, comcasts versions of data caps are retarded and not fair at all to their customers.
