Why don't you own an NVMe drive yet, /g/? SATA SSDs are old and busted
no real world improvement
too expensive
need heatsinks
3d xpoint already surpassed it
>ITT: poor plebians who can't afford NVMe SSDs

Pretty much this.
Because buying two 6tb WD reds and 1tb 850evo was really fucking cheap like 500e

Funny thing.
I traded my Intel 750 for Samsung 850 pro.
The Intel had the worst boot times and except for awesome seq read write, it was slower than the 850 pro.
Even game load times and such the 850 pro is faster.
So I'm waiting for the next best thing before I make the next switch
I have a Z87 mobo, could I plug one of the pci ssds like the Intel 750 into a pci port and have it work?
Is there support for that in my bios?
>>52454946
That depends on your board, why don't you go the manufacturer's website and see what the board can support

>worst boot times
seriously, because every fucking mobo still has shit PCIE boot support. makes it slower than loading the legacy RAID drivers
I have an sm951, it is really fast, no noticeable difference to a normal ssd tho

I thought it was related to nvme.
