Anyways, that above link is an interesting read, and, as far as I understand it, a nice "how not to built secure firmware" documentation.
What is the problem here? Retailer is not responsible for the firmware of the devices they sell. If you are worried about some shit brand camera being unsecure, then dont buy that brand. If no one buys it, retailer will not sell it. Money talks.

In this case, inurl:mytotallynicecam should give you those cams, because, since they also do not have a robots.txt, they are often indexed by google.
