can you not modified the dock in mac os?

apple docks always make the computer look like it was made for retarded people. like that dock reminds me of the toilet at the end of a public restroom for paralyzed ppl
>>
>>52439300
Modify in what way? I, like most normal people, just auto-hide it so it only pops up when you scroll to the bottom of the screen. I find it much more useful than the Windows start menu

MacBook Air 13.3", current generation

7/10. The TN display is quite poor, otherwise the machine is pretty much perfect for me.

I really wanted a 13.3" Retina but I tried three and they all had horrible non-uniform pink tint problems with the displays which made them even worse than the MBA's TN display. I just gave up and got the MBA after three Retinas with the exact same issue.

9/10. Why? Hinge is not properly stable, I tried to screw it in even more but that caused the power button to stop working and touchscreen to stop working. Recently switched out Pentium motherboard for a Core i5 motherboard. Does the job and its pretty light & thin. Currently using Windows 10 and Android 5.1.

Dell XPS 17.

7/10.

The build quality feels clunky like a first gen Xbox. Hardware and Drivers are no longer supported by Dell, whom fucked me over when they decided to make that choice. Other than that it is a good machine, has a great display which is usual from Dell.

I just need to move on quickly to another laptop before this one completely fails on me.

Thanks Dell.

That post was old. I still want to get rid of it because a laptop with no support will not last any longer. Hell, my thinkpad x60t from 2007 has more support and life than this laptop because there is a huge community for it with parts and everything.

I was thinking of getting a new Thinkpad or a MBP because both have really good support.

I'd probably rate it an 8/10

For that price and year the resolution of the screen should have been higher resolution than 1440x900 and the GPU should have been better, but other than that it's got a god tier keyboard and trackpad, fantastic battery life, great build quality and all round software-hardware integration. If it was stolen or broke down, I'd probably buy a second hand 15" rMBP to replace it.
>>
>>52441893
I will have to warn you the screen brightness is set by auto brightness and you literally can't turn it off or manually adjust the brightness.

ASUS ZenBook UX305

Pros:
>Portability/weight
>Pretty good battery life
>Snappy wake-up from sleep
>Decent keyboard for an ultrabook
>Well priced
>Ships with relatively little bloatware

Cons:
>Godawful speakers
>Bad display
>Huge bezel
>Graphics driver crashes constantly, nothing I do seems to fix it

Overall: 7/10 waiting for the X260.
>>
>>52442593
Why the fuck do they still do this? That was one of the biggest factors in my switching over to Apple. My last laptop (Lenovo) would not allow me to control the auto brightness even after disabling the option for it.

The laptops I have currently:
ThinkPad T400 7/10
ThinkPad X1 Carbon 3rd Gen 8/10
ThinkPad T420 7.5/10
PowerBook G4 12" 7.5/10
Latitude E6530 5/10

The laptops I used to own
MacBook Air 13" 7.5/10
MacBook Pro 2008 8/10
ThinkPad x100e 3/10

I've owned a bunch of Dells, Toshibas, Acers, HPs and Compaqs that aren't even wroth rating.

I've never used a 10/10 laptop. Something is always fucked up: The screen, the keyboard, the noise, the ports, the battery life.
>>
ideapad 100s, was only a few hundred dollarydoos new. I'd never buy another full sized laptop ever again. The design is solid, given the specs it performs just fine and the battery easily goes 8 hours+. For the price I really can't complain about anything however I would've preferred if the SD slot was regular SD, rather than micro, it was lucky I had a spare 64gig micro sd handy. A touchscren would've been nice too, but definitely not worth paying extra for.
>>
>>52444719
It probable didn't. Once I switched to Windows 10 the touchscreen would stop working. Its pia but uninstall drivers and reboot it should work.
>>
Chicklet keyboards are shit for typing and the build quality is not rickety at best.

9/10, great value for decent specs, fantastic screen and high build quality. Only complaints are the shallow (but perfectly acceptable) keyboard, the lack of pgup/pgdn/delete/home keys and the lack of an ethernet port.

Using this. For $200, its got a screen comparable to the one on the 11 inch Macbook air, 2gb or RAM and 32gb of storage. 11 hour battery life, and free office. Pretty good, 9/10, with the downside being that it creaks in one corner, and that it's a fingerprint magnet.

got it for $650 2 years ago, it has been a godsend since i had to travel a lot, or generally spend time away from home. Plays everything, including ARMA3.

Only issue is that i have to replace a fan that got too noisy, will cost $30, probably time to look at the thermal paste too.

Monitor is just big enough for Photoshop work, movies etc, and gaymen. When i get a new stationary i'll probably give it to a family member and look at a 13" laptop. Preferably something solid and lunix compatible.
