It's not a gyroscope.
It's a reaction wheel.
Gyro's keep running and auto-correction comes from the torque provided by their angular momentum.
Reaction wheels are attached to motors which are controlled to add or subtract momentum from a given axis, thus balancing the cube.
Funfact: this shit is used on satellites. It's better than micro thrusters and you theoretically could extract the energy back.
