If your imaging software works like that without reboot, go for it.
I just chose clonezilla because it's my biased term for imaging. So yes, use your favorite imaging software. If you are a poor boy like me, that's probably clonezilla.
Acronis and Macrium are also nice softwares. If you're fully autistic you can choose to use FOG. ( yes I know that this is basically clonezilla)
