Guys this is what I want from a Laptop. Something with an HDMI port so that I can connect to TV and watch YouTube and browse the Web from my bed with wireless keyboard with touchpad. It has to have pretty good performence, which isn't hard for a machine that I'll be using for videos and etc. Something with good battery life that I can actually take places without it weighing in at half a ton, and ultimately it has to be fairly cheap.

Thinkpads are best alternative to MBP.
In fact IBM started it off as sort of clones to early Powerbooks. I would prefer them if IBM/Lenovo managed to licensed Mac OS X on them 100% legally.
Other business grade laptops HP Elitebook and Dell Latitude are durable and last long too, but have ugly design and meh keyboard.

Because its fine for most stuff like browsing, typing out documents, maybe even playing pre 2007 games (even atom can run a lot of pre 2007 games actually)
But the main point is, its crazy energy efficient and doesn't generate too much heat, all whats present in an ideal notebook CPU
