NOW THIS IS CAPSLOCK
>>
I am sooooooooo sick and fucking tired of this retarded stigma that everyone looking down at a smartphone is a facebook zombie.

I noticed that some of these people are wearing business attire. And usually trains take you to a city. Maybe they're on the smartphone for business related purposes? There's 1001 ways to stay connected for business on the smartphone especially if you're in the IT business for example monitoring servers and stats.

This is about the same as looking at a workstation with a high end rendering video card and calling the owner a retarded mindless gamer.
>>
>>52431362
>Maybe they're on the smartphone for business related purposes?
Fat chance. They need to do work at work because browsing Facebook there is frowned upon.
>>
>>52431302

>>
>>52431362
>Maybe they're on the smartphone for business related purposes?

I doubt it, but what's so bad about being a facebook zombie? My mom is a facebook zombie. My brother is a facebook zombie. My sister is a facebook zombie.

The only reason I'm not is because the atmosphere on facebook is fucking toxic, so I browse 4chan instead.

In any case, it's not like anybody here does anything more important on their computers than browse facebook at least ~70% of the time.

He's right though. Society's been on a slow decline for the past 10,000 years. Brave men used to risk their lives crossing oceans. Now society is so degenerate that we can safely journey to the moon and back in a matter of days.

What sets apart Facebook zombies is their need for some sort of drama in their lives. Their life is empty and stagnant, so they browse Facebook to kill time and see all of the things their slightly more successful and active friends are doing.

Past the shitposting, at least in certain boards, people at last have an intellectual discussion once in a whike. Even debating and arguing about a video game or a graphics card is better than constant passive aggressive Facebook drama about that faggot lover Jenny who supports Obama, or subconsciously making yourself more depressed on Facebook as you see everyone showing off the few positive moments in lives as if it's how every day in their shoes is.

Facebook is for old people and parents who both embrace and complain about their mundane, repetitive lives but don't or can't do anything to change it because they don't have enough money, time, or energy. People who are just technologically versed enough to know how to open the Facebook app and type it into Internet Explorer, but haven't discovered the Internet and it'd wide array of niches beyond news websites.

What would be different without them? Just people staying blindly to the floor, walls, out looking around at people like a weirdo.

Only difference now is that they're being productive (actually doing something they like), with the time they'd be wasting not doing anything otherwise.
>>
Train stations aren't exactly a bar.

no, they just want to a good angle to see the buses coming and also be visible.
>>
>>52430995
That's not nearly the whole problem, OP.

Thing is when most of those people get home or arrive at work, they also go back to staring at a screen most of the time, whether it's tv or PC.

Which means most of our daily lives is spent staring at screens, consuming digital content.

It's even bleaker if you look at it from an outside perspective. All those commuters sitting in an enclosure made out of concrete, checking out the screens on their devices, each concerned about their own bubble.

Back in the 80's it wasn't like that, I became friends with a guy that asked me if I know hot to get to pen station, I was going in that direction anyway, so we walked and talked for 15 min, later on he invited me to work for him, I did for couple years, we took apart he got into bigger business I went to collage etc.
5 years later he called and it turns out he lives near my current home, so we drink a beer every other day at the pub.

What you mean is, if the guy is non white or/and is poor looking.

>>
>>52434417
Actually, yes, on the table too. In church also.
I am from Italy and the first time I went to Boston I realized that no one puts his Red Sox cap off, ever. It was summer and there was sun, outside I understand that the sun goes into your eyes but we were in a restaurant, eating and the guy kept his hat on at all times.
I took off mine, just because its not really comfy to eat with it. But tbqh later on I got used to it, I didn't put my hat on either, it was easier at end of the day. And if this is t he norm, fuck it I don't care.

Americans have shit taste in fashion, good thing there is only good brands in their shops and magazines, cause otherwise Turkmenistan will be more fashionable then them.

There is literally nothing wrong with keeping to yourself in public when waiting for transport or whatever.
It's only a problem when you're actually with someone and you're choosing the phone over them.
It's fucking pathetic to see a couple out to a cafe that are both using their phones the whole time.
I'm no phone nazi, I get that people may need to check a message no big deal but why on earth would you pay for an experience with your bf/gf and then ignore them?
>>
>>52435355

think back to 2006, if you were even alive then. train stations weren't a bustling trading post for the up-and-coming thinkers of the day to share ideas and theories. they were the same but with people staring at the ground or at some celeb gossip magazine, trying not to make eye contact and waiting for steve jobs to invent the iphone.
