If anyone working at geek squad got caught snooping around they would get fired. All geek squad will do is tell you "either back up your data or we may wipe it" thats because they WANT to just reinstall windows, its faster and thats the biggest metric. They use automated tools to do the job, they dont have any interest in that garbage clop on your hdd.
