Why everyone hates KDE?
>>52428754
>bloated piece of shit
>looks a lot like windows
>>52428754
1. Bloated
2. Inconsistent UI
3. UI designed by 2 year old dog with bad eyesight.
>>52428754
Everyone but me. I came to Linux from Windows, so KDE made me feel at home. Gnome reminds me too much of that gaylord Mac OS X's UI.
Anyone got that image that compares DEs to Swiss army knives?
>>52428835
me too
qt, bloat, windows wanna be
i dont really mind it personally, but they're all perfectly valid complaints
Because someone told them to
>>52428754
Not KISS enough
Can't remove the retarded fucking menu button from the desktop or disable "activities"
>>52428835
gnome, kde, cinnamon, xfce, etc are all bloated piles of dependenacy driven shit.
>>52428754
Ill admit I use it on my laptop but its far from perfect. Plasma 5 addresses a lot of issues such as making it not look like shit, more consistent and better customization but i3 and Gnome are better imo

ACTUAL ANSWER COMING THROUGH
Not everyone hates KDE, it's just people who run toaster PC
KDE is objectively the most well featured desktop environment. Too bad your hardware is meme tier
>Bloat
Buy an actual Hard disk that can afford 1GB extra for your DE
>Slow
Consider turning off desktop effects if you have a shit graphics card
>Complicated
Consider switching back to OSX or shit
>>52429943
This. Also,
GNOME is shit. After all this years thy won't even add a preview button in nautilus (file picking)
It's funny how you got to add exrensions for some basic functionality through firecocks
>>52428754
I like i3 but I'm not a zealot. I use windows, osx, and linux. I use i3 as my main environment for almost everything, and MATE if I really feel like it; just like I use windows and OSX if it's a better option.
But for most part Linux + i3.
It's best to use what is best for each situation to be honest OP.

You can finally remove the button in the latest version.
