Don't want the girls knowing you grew up in the trailer park?

Doesn't matter if they know where I live, the important thing is that I know where they live.

>alright class today i'm going to show you how to create a shared folder on a network drive
CS101 was fucking hell, i'm so glad i dropped out

then i thought of something
>folders in .../teachers/name/studentName
>go back to teachers, can see every students homework assignment
>go back one more folder for shits and giggles
>social security numbers and financial information for all the students
>literally everything but grades

also got all the IPs for all the schools printers, was fun printing spooky shit on random printers.

someone left their drivers license on a scanner, got that too lol

And what are you going to do? Oh, that's right. Nothing

You don't need an address to rape someone

So what? They could just as well look that shit up in the phonebook (yes, these are online now).
>>
>>52421348
>he doesn't have a job that requires phonebooks and other data scraping sites to remove your info for safety reasons

there's a reason I wasn't thrilled to find out they signed me up and plastered my info out there
>>
>>52421403

What is that reason?
>>
>>52421418
Can't say.

Time and time again, a stupid post is accompanied invariably with a pepe. Isn't it time to abandon the antiquated notion, steeped more in sympathy rather then logic, that all memes are equal? It may not be politically correct in today's climate to say so, but I stand by my assertion. Some memes are danker then others.

if I don't let my university's affiliates know the reasons why would I let strangers on a tibetan cave painting website know
>>
>>52421440

Because they're in your personal sphere of interaction; we are not.

>>52421149
like every jackass assistant professor at every college doesn't have a spreadsheet with every student's name birthdate and ssn siting on their laptop anyway.

but they're not.
I was automatically signed up for this 3rd party service with no notice that my personal information would be given to them.

Would gladly have nothing but pepes if it would get rid of anime pedophilia.

You know, I have to wonder if the university actually requested from their students at admission the right to disclose that sort of information to third parties. Because if they didn't, I'd say that's grounds for a lawsuit.

>>52421418

Possibly has some sort of security clearance, and his employers don't want anyone trying to rubber hose some answers out of him.
>>

At my university they're literally not allowed to have that due to local data protection laws.

Our course registration and study tracking system for instance doesn't even give teachers access to registered students' email addresses, only their names. Because of this we have a secondary system for sharing course slides, handing out and then in course assignments and general announcements. However this system doesn't allow teachers access to students' email addresses ether meaning that at the start of every course we have to pass around a piece of paper where we sign our names and email addresses so that the lecturer can contact us about stuff like changed lecture times, classes or if lectures aren't going to be held for one reason or another.

I could see the printer thing, but that's because my college makes it easy to map to any printer on campus

If i was still enrolled in that shitfest (Rasmussen in Florida) i would take a screenshot

couldn't access it from wifi, but if you used a computer in the library they were all authorized to read anything on the shared drives, which is where the financial department and everyone else stored shit.

It was pretty fucking retarded, i'm sorry you don't believe me.

First day of CS101 the teacher walked us through how to create a folder on the desktop, and explained in an hour of detail, what we just did.

They handled a lot of things at that school in the most inane way possible.
>200 computers on network
>sysadmin still had to come around to each computer to do windows updates and the like manually

Like fucking seriously the guy couldn't setup a network properly.

You literally couldn't call in for tech support on a day a java or flash update went live.
>>
>>52421902
Ugh. I know that pain.
>go to large, private, expensive uni for graduate studies
>11,000 computers on campus with about 3500 available to students
>mix of OSs ranging from windows ME to OSX9 to Kali and slackware
>no network login on any computer, all local accounts
