So new laptop had free trial of windows 10, worked well, just assumed I could use my old win7 disk when trial ran out. Turns out it can only use win8 or 10. Now Im not using win8, so I guess I will have to use win10, but win10 costs £100 and fuck that. Can anyone help me with torrenting and installing win10? Can It be done from a USB like Linux can be?

just download the official windows 10 64bit ISO from microsofts website to an usb stick and boot it from their
in the installation it will ask you to activate your windows key, just press "activate later" or something like that and you are good to go
your trial is basically permanent, you just have some little limitations like no customizability(which can be bypassed with some tricks) and a watermark in the bottom right of your screen
if you can't live with that, try to get your windows 7 installation to work

Im honestly not sure. Trying F2, DEL, F12, bunch of other buttons would access BIOS to let me boot from disc, so I contacted the manufacturer, and their response was that I could not install win7 and had to install either 8 or 10. But desu if I could even try to install 7 now I would not want to for fear of fucking it up
