Never had any problems with Asus. Actually they are the brand I'd absolutely recommend for mobos over anything else, since I've had MSI and AsRock boards break (and yes I know AsRock used to be part of Asus). Gigabyte might be good too though.
Corsair on the other hand makes some excellent quality RAM and cases, but they don't manufacture their own psu:s, so the quality is dependent on the manufacturer, not the brand (some of them are even made by Seasonic).

It does not affect the Pi in any way. You use the GPIO pins for sending data to the BIOS chip, and you use the Pi's 3.3v pin to power it. You can do the same thing with a beagleboard too.

It does. I used the Pi2b, but it works as long as there are GPIO pins.
Although the prices I have seen for the Pi 0 recently have been around the same as the 2B because of demand.
