Hi /g, would samsung 950 pro work with sata 3 to m.2 adapter? samsung has 'smaller piece' on do right and adapter on the left, would it just work if i flip it upside down?

Think about this anon, you are doing a mistake.

Well asked if it's gonna work... do not have m.2 slot in lenovo y50-70 and I wanna sth faster than samsung 850 evo(which is quite good value for speed and capacity)

I have notebook...

I believe the 850 evo comes fairly close to saturating the sata3 interface already. I don't think you'd see much gains in performance with this setup
>>52419339
Lol believe me you don't need anything faster than that unless you're editing 4k video
samsung 850 evo is about 540 read and 500 write. With samsung 950 pro I would have about 750 cuz of sata 3 limits. Later I will be able to put it in PC or another notebook. It gonna live long if they give 5 years warranty.
You are an idiot and there's no point in gimping an M.2 NVME SSD by making it use SATA. Just get an 850 Pro and call it a day.

Uh no, sata caps out at about 550.

Well I am reading right now and ye you are right sata 3 max speed is about 550-600 so.. '6Gbps' is a lie ;_; Thanks

It's 6 giga bit not giga bytes you idiot

U fucking kidding me?
Learn to read fucking tard I wrote
6 Gbps and 750 MBps see fucking difference between b and B
Do the new nvme pci-e drives only work with Skylake boards? I mean they're pci express after all?

I have a devils canyon mb and its has boot support for nvme
>>52419076
I have no idea if it would work, but there are no discernible performance differences between the 950 pro and the 850 evo, in real world situations,
Load time
Boot time
etc
