So much salt. Blender's main failing isn't it's lack of industry standards as a software, it's the lack of industry standards in it's community. Anything you can make in Maya or 3DS Max you can generally make in Blender. But the Blender community lives off the law of average, where they see average quality things made in Blender and think they're great because their own skills are awful. Ditch the community aspect and Blender is amazing.

At work for animation we use in-house software that is fucking beautiful (and then run it in a server farm through renderman) seriously awesome. Only runs on their version of some modded linux distro. I won't name the studio but the program used to be called Create but is now renamed to Anzu because fuck knows.
