how does amd fuck up this bad? It shouldn't even be physically possible to be that warm when nothing is happening. I thought AMD cards had ZeroCore or some shit.
My 970 FTW's idle at 43° and 50° with no fans on. I have to double check that though. I also have two 270x's in crossfire, will check the temps for those as well.

Get fucked shill

His 390 fans are probably set to turn off while idle.
My 390x did that. Changed it so the fans run at 20% on idle, and now it idles at 28c

I bought an R9 290X*
The people who say it runs at 95C are all liars. It runs at 495C. I have to put the computer on the roof when it snows to be able to use it. The heat has made my PC water proof: I throw a bucket of water on it, but it all evaporates before getting close to the PC.
It operates at 193db. So loud that I cannot use it in my state. I rented a boat, drove the boat out 100 kilometers into the ocean, and put my PC there. I use a satellite uplink to stream my games. Great bandwidth, but terrible lag. Unfortunately, due to the noise, most of the fish in a 50km radius died.
The 290X also stutters badly. It goes like so: "Th-th-this is a f-f-f-f-frame f-f-f-for you." Unbearable.
Two days ago, the 290X killed 6 innocent people in my town. It also stole a large shipment of food meant to help starving people in a third-world country. It also destroyed a research laboratory where the cure for cancer had JUST been discovered. It created a wormhole-timeloop and destroyed the continent of Atlanta. The 290X killed Kennedy. Also Lincoln.
I should have bought a 780 or Titan.
*Fabricated story, same as OP

>EVGA GTS 450 idles at 60C
Fans are at 20-30%, but on load it never passes 75C.

Thank you for your helpful post fellow consumer! I have decided to buy a quality NVIDIA graphics processor as a result of your experience and will recommend that my friends and blood relatives do also this.

Jesus christ. The way you write, you sound like you're fat in real life.

I am ;_;

>older card still competitive and in a lot of cases even better than the new ones
>the people here defending nvidia were probably the ones who told people to get a 770/780 over a 290 a few years ago
lmao these cucks
the ONLY nvidia card you should be getting right now is a 980ti, otherwise AMD is better in pretty much every way, unless you're a poorfag and care about efficiency... but you're not a poorfag, right anon?
>>52408321
>43C idle
>FTW
Sounds normal, the fans don't spin at idle.
My card will stay in 40s unless I pick a fan curve with fans on at idle.

u are a retard, it has a passive cooling system so it makes less noise
i love winter
