...if any?
i use avast but i am starting to have privacy concerns. MSE seems like the worst option in this regard.

at least you dont use trend micro :^)

Windows Defender / MSE

Rest is shit.
>>
>>52401575
doesn't MSC send data back to Microsoft automatically? the last time I fiddled with it there didn't seem to be any option to prevent this.
I just want an antivirus where big bro wont rape my tiny asshole.
>>
Any of the enterprise ones.
Only the personal versions spy on users, corporations wouldn't tolerate it.

>>

>>52401649

I think you can disable it, but if privacy is a very major concern for you maybe you shouldn't use any anti virus at all.
>>
why use antivirus if you don't need it?? if I get a virus (which is almost never) I just reformat and reinstall os since there is no point in having a compromised system

because that is a pain in the butt gor anyone not using a rinky dink low memory XP system

I use panda cloud antivirus, am I a faggot?
>>

isnt that a paid subscription service with no free option? ...why even
>>
MSE (or Defender, or whatever) + monthly Malwayrebytes scan
>>
>>52401996
No they have a free option, works well and I don't have to update since its cloud.until last year they didn't even give me ads, since 2016 they give me a small pesky ad in a corner sometimes ,but its better then the other free alternatives in this sense. I don't know how good it is though, the av tests seemed fine though

I use the same, you can disable data collection in MSE and it does a good job along with Malwarebytes scans.
>>
>>52402090
what exactly is the difference between MSE and Windows Defender? is one preferable over the other?
also, why do you need both mwb and mse? Isn't one enough?
>>
Common sense
>>
>>52402246
There are none

Defender is MSE, but built into Windows

I think Vista had it, then 8/8.1 and 10

I think MSE/Defender isn't quite as good at detection, that's why I use malwarebytes to be safe

Most of the big ones have had similar shit happen to them already. I wouldn't trust any antivirus suite that hijacks your system.

However anyone with common sense wouldn't use Jewgle Lagdroid.

None.

AV software must be able to intercept and scan everything that enters or leaves your computer. It is impossible for AV software to "protect" you, if it cannot hijack your computer.

AV is dangerous snakeoil. Only retards trust AV.
>>
>>52404027
That's like saying airbags are harmful because they give false sense of security and won't prevent a crash. Disposing of them for that reason is what's retarded.
>>
>>52404500
It would be a proper analogy if having airbags in your car meant you had to remove your doors, breaks and the steering wheel.
>>
>>52404500
Airbags are not sold to prevent crashes, AV is sold to prevent malware infections.
Having an airbag does not provoke more crashes, having an AV does increase the attack surface.

Which is not a correct analogy to AV.
