I was feeling really cheap when it came to buying a laptop a few years ago, figured I wouldn't use it much.
I bought a Toshiba C850D-11Q.
For those who don't know, the C850D-11Q has an E1-1200 processor.
That thing made me want to fucking scream, haven't gone cheaper than an A10-5745m since and I probably never will again. Kick myself every day that I didn't buy used instead.

Basically it cuts the response time by 99%

If you have ulmb turned on you should see a skill improvement. The display is no longer bottlenecking you.

Also how bright do you have your monitor set to Jesus fuck. Ulmb on is still way brighter than 120 lumens which is the industry standard for photo editing.

I bought a Gsync monitor last week and it was one of the best upgrades I've made so far.

Any of you guys ever watch those 60 fps webms of games and wonder why your game doesn't look as smooth even though you get a constant 60+ fps? Using a gsync monitor will make your games look that smooth.
>>
Freesync and probably gsync are the only things on g that are really memes IMO. If I got it for free I would take it but I would never pay for it.

Upgraded from a flipphone to a Oneplus one I picked up awhile back on CL for ~150. It's not particularly bad or anything, I just don't do anything with it aside from calls/texting and light browsing

>>
>>52394466
what
>>
>>52394699
not him but.

60 fps webms often have interpolation and it makes them seem smoother then they are in actual gameplay, g-sync and higher frame rates accomplishes that.

The 11" Macbook Air, purchased in late 2011. I wanted an ultraportable to take to class because my T500 (bought used per advice from /g/) was a heavy motherfucker.

At first, things don't sound too bad: it had a full-voltage Core i5 2467m, a usable keyboard and touchpad, could even do light gaming, all miles ahead of netbooks at the time. But here's what did suck: I got the base configuration, which had a 64GB solid state drive and 2 GB of RAM, both of which could not be upgraded. I stupidly did not realize this at the time of purchase, so I became saddled with a machine that boasted X300-tier specs, made years after the X300, with none of the upgrade paths available on the X300. The processor also throttled like all hell, so performance was equal to or worse than the P9500 in my T500. Battery life wasn't even that impressive, I only ever managed to get about 5-6 hours out of it, in other words roughly the same that I could coax from the T500 (beginning to notice a pattern?).

I sold the Macbook after graduating in 2014, by which point I hadn't used it in almost a year. The RAM was getting to be a real issue. Amazingly, I somehow managed to get $500 for the thing, so my mistake wasn't as costly as it could have been. Meanwhile I still use the damn T500.

kingston ddr3 desktop memory. it worked ok, but i bought it because i was poor at the time, and there was a rebate offer on it.

these cheese weasels did EVERYTHING they could to deny me my rebate: delay, claim that this product did not have a rebate offer, delay, then said that it did have a rebate but was invalid because 'the rebate window had closed' (because of their repeated attempts to delay,) and finally -- FINALLY -- after time, postage, phone calls, the works -- i got my check. and guess what? my upstairs neighbor had to bring it down to me. they had 'accidentally' used the wrong apartment #... and misspelled my name on the check.

an amazingly frustrating experience, but a valuable lesson; i have never since used a rebate in the criteria i use to purchase anything! or bought anything from kingston, for that matter...
>>

wow i got dubs.

ugh i had a whole post for that but 4chX removed it when i pressed esc by accident, not draft at the top of the page. wut fug. fagfox has been glitching out since i used some bitchmonkey script last week fug.

anyway tl;dr i never call anyone, the wifi tool for windows doesn't work, it has to be plugged into a pc with inet or ethernet to work. service is 36 shreks a year, but really 40-50 with taxs n shit. porting a number over is 20-30 shreks, i haven't bothered to move the landline over. much better than monthly rates from cable/landline for a old school phone. i bought it with 3 months of service, tested it, than bought year of service 3 months later. i have only made 2-3 actually calls other than setup and testing.

mostly i never call anyone and i'm too tinfoil to invite the cable company over to install internet for it and than cancel landline from the cuck company. as it is now i use wifi from the neighbourhood but it's 200-700 kb/s max, even though the AP calms 2mb/s, it's far away. the other neighbor had 60mb/s but they moved so my access stopped. new hipster couple moved in but they are too stupid to understand they have unlimited data and very fast speed on the cable company. fucking millennials, i offered to pay them half and even gave them a old house fan and some coupons to welcome then. i'll bother them tommorrow, see if they change their minds.

Got a oneplus up from an iPhone 3gs, I think most of the hype was from a somewhat competitively priced phone with not bad specs.

Of course some things like no SD card and bad selection of cell bands for some countries can be a deal breaker for loads of people.

Still fairly satisfied but gonna need a phone with expandable storage for a music collection approaching 50gb upwards.
