If I use Windows ONLY for games (I do ALL my other computing tasks on another OS), is it beneficial for me to get Windows 10?
Also, if I have Windows 7 activated via loader by Daz, will I get an activated windows 10 after the upgrade?
Bump.

Ehh, probably not just yet. There's still a lot of issues and bugs, many gaming related, that aren't resolved yet. The real question is whether or not you have software reliant on DX12.
>Windows 7 activated
I don't know, but I'd imagine that it would be. I can say for sure that going from an 8.1 activated with MS Toolkit to Windows 10 works just fine, as does just installing 10 and using MS Toolkit, as I've tested both successfully.

ive heard on here and on other places you can safely upgrade
havent tried it myself, too paranoid about having to shell out 170 australian buckaroos for an operating system
Yes and yes.
this does not mean you will do this. you will not do this. we would know. no one chooses to switch OSes regularly unless they really truly care.
if you intend to try, keep that ethernet cable handy. you'll want to pull it whenever you can.

What in the actual fuck are you trying to say?

to add, I would recommend downloading all your games onto a secondary NTFS drive in linux through wine, assuming steam.
Cool, thanks guys.
I guess I'll upgrade due to the nice flat design.

If it says you are eligible for an upgrade then you are.
If you migrate there is the option of rolling back to W7
Dunno how that actually works though.
If you are that paranoid then clone your HD and try upgrading and see what happens.
