So besides not being a retard, what do you think is the "best" antivirus? The more I hear, the more I think they're all shit.
Pic probably unrelated.
whatever is free and doesn't irritate the shit out of you
MSE and weekly malware bytes

Kaspersky
gentoo
CS
>>52363488
>MSE
Frequently scores worst in AV tests
G-Data, Panda and Kaspersky have good detection rates.
>>52363459
Vipre
Malware bytes just with the active protection is good enough.
>>52363459
That's because they ARE all shit. Windows Defender is the least of all evil.
>>52363459
I use mse + clamwin and malwarebytes for ondemand
Kaspersky is just $10 / year
Why not choose the best?
>MSE
MSE provides enough protection out of the box.
You wont need anything else (assuming you are not dumb).
No matter where you look, Bitdefender, Kaspersky and Panda score very high
>>52363704
>implying you would notice an infection that goes past MSE
There is no popup dialog "Would you like to become part of the botnet?"

kaspersky is good, Panda is cloud-based from what I remember so it instantly goes to trash
which problems does Bitdefender have? It surely isn't perfect
>>52363459
Windows Defender is okay. Works for me, combined with Malware Bytes.
>>52363802
MSE is the worst or second worst in most benchmarks
What if I don't have malware bytes premium?
bleachbit portable
adwcleaner
jrt
mbam
roguekiller
use all of these one after the other and you're golden
OSX 10.11.2
I use common sense. I live dangerously though by pirating games. I had a pro version of kaspersky, avg and webroot on my computer a few weeks ago and downloaded a pirated game that included some adware that no matter how hard I tracked it down and deleted would return constantly. It created junk files and ate up my disk space to 0.
None of the antiviruses did anything about it or could do anything about it.
I wouldn't pay money. I would just make regular back ups, use common sense and be prepared for a situation where you need to reformat a drive.
>>52363459
Panda cloud
You will have to deal with those retard ass popups, but its pretty light and it has a high detection ratio
>>52363687
> $10 / year
where?
>>52363459
How is the firewall with Kaspersky pro? Any good, or do I ned something like Zonealarm or Comodo firewall?
Shouldn't underestimate firewalls btw..

No, you infringe on copyright.
Piracy is armed robbery at the high seas. Arrrr.
>>52363939
Here, 3 licenses for $20, so only $6.66 each:

Yeah if virus scanning is the only thing you want to be able to do then use that. If you need some performance use something that doesn't make your pc slow as shit.
>>52363955
bullshit
the basic works as good as the premium version

McAfee being rated good tells me all of those tests are bought.
McAfee is complete crap.

All free ones are shit, the only paid one that isnt a disguised malware itself is nod32

Malwarebytes and bitdefender

All antivirus uses WHITELISTS.
Pick your poison: USG, RUSG or CHINKG.
>>52365259
>what is heuristic detection
All Ive seen in this thread is fucking normie fagshit. I mean, downloading a pirated game with crapware? Anyone with a grain of Internetskill either uses a private or pseudoprivate torrent tracker or trusted warez or linking sites. Using an antivirus to protect yourself? As in, after growing up with the Internet, you still need someone to hold hands because you're such a noobfag. lol.
Use a decent adblocker and a modified hostfile to keep bad shit out and use commen sense while browsing and downloading whatever transporn faggotshit you watch.

Total Defense tbqh, its the only one used by the Federal Government
>Best antivirus
Literally install gentoo (or any Linux distro)
>No Anon I need Windows
Common Sense 2016 Silver Edition is sufficient, especially when paired with any modern browser's built in protection and an adblocker like uBlock Origin. You can always run periodic scan with MalwareBytes if you want to be sure you're still clean.
