I am sure we all host our open source shit at github (at least for redundancy) but where do you host your private repositories? I've been using BitBucket but am open for something new.

What's wrong with shitbucket? It does everything I need.
bitbucket and github. you should be able to get 5 private repositories (a Micro account) for free if you're a student.
Your own server plus gitlab

I don't like the online frontend all that much. Don't use it all that often anyway but still, pretty annoying.
Also it's some for profit company, don't know if I want to host my personal shit there.
I thought about GitLab, it can be self-hosted, right?
My gitlab server

My African-American
gitlab etc is bloat
all you need is cgit or gitweb combined with whatever webserver you want

um, ok

disgusting

I literally use it only once to make a new repo.
> Also it's some for profit company, don't know if I want to host my personal shit there.
So is github. If you need muh privacy, none of online git servers will satisfy.
> I thought about GitLab, it can be self-hosted, right?
Why would you ever need a front-end to a git server at all? You don't use any co-operation and issue tracking features, do you?
>>52362320
Nah, not closed source software, simply shit like personal notes like emacs .org files, configuration files for servers/NAS/network/etc. and so on.

Good point, friendly homosexual. Had totally forgotten I could run a server without a frontend and everything. How silly.

I host it on my own gitolite + gitweb, then again there is nothing private on there. It would be easy enough to make them private though if I add one rule.
