Is Google ever gonna care about this?
>>
>>52354943
They have been since Lollipop, and now definitely with Marshmallow. I'd give it 2 more years, before the latest OS would have the majority use. There would still be shit-tier phones skewing the stats, though.
>>
>>52354943
what's the problem?
>>
>>52354943
It's still their OS. Why would they care? Even more so they don't have to work on a new one since it seems the ones already out are doing a fine job.
>>
>>52354943
Blame the retarded carriers and manufacturers.
>>
>>52354943
They only care about you having access to their ads.
>>
>>52354943
they might, but OEMs sure fucking don't
have fun with your outdated & insecure device
>>
>>52354943
Gingerbread will never die
>>
Pretty impressive that they've gotten so many users on Lollipop/Kitkat though, I remember a year ago when Gingerbread and Jelly Bean made up well over 50% of the chart.
>>
>>52354943
they might if you label your graphs
>>
>>52357343
You'll probably find that the nett number of devices on those releases has actually increased slightly but new models etc have bumped the percentages for the later releases.
>>
>>52354943
Sure they do. On their Nexus devices. Who the fuck cares about locked down bloatware filled phones distributed by carriers?

Maybe when brands like samsung stop selling 3 years old phones with an actual non-samsung price. God I'm not paying for a kit kat samsung phone when I have a Jiayu lollipop at same price with same memory, processor, ... Only change screen AMOLED
>>
>>52357632
Yes, that's why they're pushing adware to every Windows device to entice people to upgrade to Windows 10.

Eventually, they're just going to force the upgrade. :^)
>>
>>52358802

It's not forced.

You literally have to enable settings to get the windows 10 nagware.
>>
>>52357558
They don't even care about it on their Nexus devices.
Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 from 2012 aren't officially supported on Marshmallow despite their hardware being more than capable of running it, and Nexus 5 just got its last official update with Marshmallow.
Likely the next version of Android will be the last for Nexus 6 as well.

Google doesn't give a shit. Their devices have disgustingly short lifecycles.
>>
>>52358834
>You literally have to enable settings to get the windows 10 nagware.
False.
>>
>>52358865

No it's not you retard.

-sent from my fully updated 8.1 machine with no nagware

learn how updates work you mongoloid
>>
>>52354979
This.
Shit tier phones skew these stats to terribly
>>
>>52358882
>It's not forced!
>Just don't update

this is the same logic as iOS updates not being forced
>>
>>52358882
That anon is right, though. You have to actively opt out of automatic updates, and then you have to actively make sure that you don't accidentally let the GWX update through.

By default, the system is configured to automatically install all updates. By default, you will get the Windows 10 adware.

You can prevent it, but that requires DISabling settings, not ENabling them. By default, the adware will be installed.

And most users have no business monkeying with update settings since they will fuck things up.
>>
>>52358908
>this is the same logic as iOS updates not being forced
Well, they aren't.
You get a notification that it's available and you get to choose.
I've had a red bullet on the Settings icon for over a year. I'd have to delete all my photos to make room for the download. So I go without.
>>
>>52355068
No they're not. It was Lollipop that killed the lagdroid meme on /g/.

That, or this wave of newfags from /r/4chan
>>
>>52358927
Normal non-/g/ users will upgrade by accident because it installs Windows ten
>>
Hope my tab s2 gets 6.0 soon, I want to use the combined storage thing with my 200gb microsd

Already did, to cure cancer you need cancer
So now Play Services takes care of everything, even WebViews isn't tied to Android nowadays
Bretty good solution except that both are becoming so fucking bloated it's retarded
>>
>>52359971
>to cure cancer you need cancer
so thats why 4chan is less of a cancer now
>>
>>52358834
Why lying on /g/ anon? The Win10 notifier comes as recommended Windows 7 update.

i have non-/g/ relatives who are currently running win 7 and 8.1, they didnt reserve win 10 when notification popped up and got rid of it by simply googling, they are still running 7 and 8, nothing has installed itself automatically.

How did the Get windows 10 popup notification get there, then?
>>
>>52359821

You do know that Apple actually addressed the large-size update issue almost 6 months ago, right?

You can literally copy your photos from your phone to your computer, do the update, copy them back and it'll never be an issue for you again.

Windows Update.

Forced Heads Up notifications "YOU GOT A MESSAGE, LET ME USE UP 1/3-1/4TH YOUR VERTICAL SPACE TO TELL YOU A SECOND HAS PASSED". Yes, I know there are apps to turn it back to ticker, but this should not be the case ever. Even iOS has a way to manage this.

Also, Material Design.

JB and KK are basically the same. Any issues with JB or KK that should be of concern?
>>

I don't believe that distribution.
