Windows objectively has better drivers which delivery superior performance from your hardware. Flawless audio and video playback with proper volume levels and no screen tearing.

Linux at 125% volume is equivalent to 40% volume on Windows, which is ridiculous and even with headphones and I can't hear shit.

Proprietary drivers have no alternative.

Any desktop appeal Linux has to the masses is overshadowed by zealots and fanboi's that think everything else is shit.

Windows gets shit done, and owns business.

>>

If you work with normies you know they are mentally handicapped when it comes to computers.

You always do a clean install. I had some fuckers who upgraded and didn't want to reset PC. So now we have old drivers and settings from Windows 7 clashing with the 1511 update.

It was a fucking mess which could have been resolved in 40 mins if they just reset PC.

On Linux you need to install imwheel or manually configure because there is no option to tweak scroll speed on any distro.

Scrolling on Chrome/Firefox was a fucking nightmare. There was a catch with imwheel, when enabled, it prevents you from scrolling properly in other folders and applications. So you have to turn it off when not using web browser.

Also, no thumbnails in browser selector.

Test it yourself. Set volume to max on Linux and compare it to Windows. There is an obvious difference in quality. Windows offers loudness equalization and volume leveling.

Where's the source code?
>>
After using all three major OSs as a primary OS for work/home/etc, I can definitively say all three are shit.

Windows:
That fucking start menu, luckily fixed with Classicshell. Occasionally run into some machines that always have update problems. Literally no way to fix it. Though on machines that work, never an issue. File explorer is such a pain in the ass to get rid of all the garbage and clutter and just display a simple C:\, D:\, E:\
Clusterfuck control panel with UI elements straight from Win95 + XP + the new metro shit.
Dependency hell somehow still exists, and MS's solution is keep a copy of every DLL that ever existed.

Linux:
Try to install common distro, no partitions recognized, only option is to wipe, windows recognizes parts just fine. Try to update OS, bricks installation. Try to install program, repo program hangs. Try to install another program, some retard didn't update the installer properly, so now you have to unpack the installer and waste shit ton of time guessing and figuring out the correct url and trial and error repack the installer to install a program. Try to install foreign language IME, most distros don't even show it until after you google half an hour to find you have to install some other thing first then install the language, in the end the IME refuses to switch anyway. Dumbed down babby GUI. Simple windows tasks like battery management that take a few clicks requires starting a research project, and if you haven't touched that for a year or two, you gotta research it again.

OSX:
Just complete total utter shit. The GUI is simply complete unusable shit, to say nothing of the filesystem and settings tools. Calling it fisher price tier is an insult to fisher price. And when - not if - shit breaks you have zero recourse, and appletards on every forum will tell you it works fine on their machine and you're doing something wrong.

In the end, windows was the least shit to deal with, with the most functionality, so I stuck with that.

Because this is what Hitler said?

And srsly, *nixtards. Microsoft had a massive campaign to fix bugs. Other companies bugs. So they went to Egghead and bought one copy of every game. Handed out 1-2 games per team member. Explored what bugs the games had and devised workarounds for DOS. If you fixed a bug then you could keep the game.

One bug-ridden game was Sim City. Yes, the original Sim City from 1989 by Maxis. Not some unknown crap from Mr Nobody. As a matter of fact, Microsoft could send a bill to Maxis. But they didn't. Because even if a drooling baby could figure out that the crash wasn't Microsoft's fault, then a blue screen is the last thing the user sees. Therefore Microsoft had to fix it because of PR reasons.

Now, this was possible only and only because of money exchanging hands. Not because people was trying to get brownie points.

And don't try to yap about "Our forum helped a little old lady to use her printer. It only took 18 months." This was way before the general breaktrough of Internet.

>>
SystemD is shit but you have to use it because Red Hat pays Linus
>>
>>52343972
The usual way to install ubuntu:
download the iso: ~10-20 minutes depending on your connection
burning the iso: ~10 minutes if you have stuff on the usb drive you need to move to other folders, But you could have done this while downloading the iso and then +2 minutes to write the iso to disk.
Then you boot the iso: 2 minutes at most.
click install: 10-30 minutes depending on your disk speed You can use the computer while it installs if you want.

this means 24-50 minutes.
If you don't know what you are doing, maybe multiply this by 2-3 if we are generous.
Using 12 hours is absurd.

Should have explained why. It isn't exactly 12 hours (I did have 4 hours of sleep in between)
It was mostly me trying to figure what the fuck was going on. I had no Linux experience prior to this installation and it welcomed me with a shitstorm of issues. The first issue was the CD itself. It wouldn't let me install. "Try without installing" would take me to a black screen and the installation itself simply wouldn't launch (blank screen with no cursor). I tried to find help online, but nothing worked. Later, the CD somehow magically came back to life. The installation, I shit you not, took me around 3-4 hours. I have no idea why it took so long for the packages to be installed. I get roughly 10Mbps here in Asia. At last, after installation, my Grub was apparently missing (didn't know this at the time bc noob), which didn't help solving the problem of why I would STILL get a blank or sometimes black screen after login.. I found the Boot Repair Disk iso and burnt it through someone else's laptop. That worked. Skipping ahead several hours later, I was able to access recovery mode and install drivers and updates. Everything was fine for the most part, even sound worked but somehow the whole thing came back to the problem of the blank screen. Which brings me to now. I'm using the recovery mode as I'm trying to find answers.
