so whats /g/'s opinion on mactype? It seems like a legit solution to default shitty pixel bound ( 800x600 anyone? ) microsoft font rendering. Do you use it? If not why?
I have windows 10

the pic i posted is windows 10
Bumping for interest.

Isn't development dead?
its good, but breaks with some programs
youre better off getting 4K monitor or a hackintosh

jesus christ my eyes are watery, how can you look at that blurry mess
>>52335234
Because all it does is create a blurry mess, as shown in your picture. Windows' sharp default font rendering is both better and fine.

The fonts in all of these look the same to me as my current default Win10 fonts. Could someone point out the major differences?
>>52336170
mac fonts make everything look bold
>>52336170
here is the same without it
>>52336056
my eyes bleed out from such a thin text, and i have perfect vision, are you wearing some magnifying glasses by any chance?
nvm disregard everything i suck cocks, just install Font Rendering Enhancer if you are on Chrome or Opera and make sure directwrite is on, it will only affect browser but it doesnt have any kerning issues and font stays sharp
>>52336344
In fairness, that's some pretty poor rendering. Do you have ClearType misconfigured?
>>52336056
i'll never forget the day i asked jordan how to install infinality and he just replied with "lol".
you gave me PTSD jordan.
>>52337240
>directwrite on
turning it off gets better results
anyone r8 my font rendering? Win10 directwrite off Font Rendering Enhancer width 80
>>52339305
turning it off gives bugs with kerning and in some cases misformed letters.
>>52339490
>[citation needed]
It just werks on my machine then.
It's a nice effort, but it doesn't do shit for Windows' brain-dead kerning. So you get pretty glyphs, but they're still placed badly.
>>52339513
>>52339305
tried to turn it off, it looks too sharp on 1080p as if no antialiasing is applied, on 720p its not as noticable i guess
>>52339646
could be, im on 1366x768 and it looked too sharp at first but then i got used to it
I never notice the difference between my windows 10, xubuntu, and os x fontrendering
>shit vision
I didn't notice anything installing pure whtever with chrome
Font rendering is only important to me when I am using a monitor that I can only connect to through VGA. Even then it looks fine if I configure ClearType
Because only mouth breathing idiots and children use Windows on their home computer because they are too ignorant to get a better OS. And I am neither.
i can never tell the difference between these, maybe i'm blind
>>52339710
Fucking... godlike
It doesn't look that bad OP.
>>52341845
tell me what you think, op
Never, never use edge. Look at this shit. Worst part about it, you can't change the font settings.
