Anyone who knows Gabe, knows what an all consuming fan of Apple he is, so I found the nearest Apple Store location (Nashville), and told his Dad that I thought it would be a perfect idea to take Gabe for his 12th birthday. Boy, were we right! We all pitched in, including his brother, Seth, and got him a $125 Apple gift card, so he could buy some accessories that he has been wanting for his refurbished, iPad 2, and planned the trip. We drove all the way to Nashville with Gabe having no clue what was up. When we got near the Apple store's location in the mall, I covered his eyes, while Daddy and Seth got the recorders ready, 1/2

Just seeing my son this happy was the greatest gift I could have ever hoped for! The Apple employee knew how much Gabe loved the new iPod touch, but that the gift card was for the cost of the accessories he wanted, and that we were not going to be able to get an iPod. Gabe wasn't expecting one, and he wasn't asking for one either. This man was so deeply touched by Gabe, that he pulled me aside and asked that, since it was his birthday, would I allow him to pitch in the difference, so that Gabe could have an iPod today? I swear, I was so dumbfounded, that I didn't know what to say, and I simply hugged him and thanked him with everything in me! Keith and I were in a mild state of shock, 2/2
