Honestly it comes down to choice and needs of the user for deciding which platform is "better", but if it means anything too you, the reason I keep coming back to android is Customizability. The ability to change everything to your liking is a huge selling point for me. Don't like the keyboard that came with your phone? Then use the google keyboard or Swiftkey. Don't like how your battery is preforming? Then tweak the kernel or outright replace it with another. Don't like the stock twitter app? Then use Twidere or TweetCaster. It's options like these that make me never bore of android. Yea it's got its problems, fragmentation being the biggest in my opinion, but the good hugely outweigh the bad.
