So basically its like Linux but its worth a shit?
>>52330853
That's one way to put it
It's just Android but looks and works like a desktop OS
>>52330853
It's not a GNU/Linux distribution, so don't get your hopes so high.
>>52331188
My hopes are only high because is is NOT a gnu/Linux distribution.
>>52331188
But it's Linux, and thankfully doesn't have GNU cancer.

ah yes you're that type of retard.
Good luck with your broken chinese botnet then.
Does not start in VM Ware Player. Any special settings?
doesn't start on my laptop either, just sits at checking data partition/

Okay, so VM does not work but it works on a T420. So far, the touchpad support is awful, it feels to fast but also sluggish. Testing more now.

APKs work, the game even runs smoothly but the fan starts spinning really fast, so it gets hot really fast

Maybe meant for touchscreen laptop also.
How did they even implement GPU drivers? Just software rendering + VESA?

It seems that no Google Services work for now, Youtube videos cannot be played.
Also what is really annoying is the fact that you have no feedback about your cursor. When you move your mouse over a link in Chrome for example you do not know if it is clickable or not because the cursor icon does not change.

Are wifi and bluetooth working fine?
What are those 2 icons next to Bluetooth?
The windows support snapping to the left and right, just like Windows 7 does.
Also there is no battery indicator, so I have no clue when this thing will shutdown.
>>52332314
>I dont know, just try it, you dont have to install it
Not a full fledged OS?
you cant change wifi settings manually, there is no long press behaviour
Is there a live CD? Might try this on my dedicated music box
>>52332581
Wifi works. Bluetooth too I guess, my Z3 can find it but I will not pair it now. The button is for memory cleanup lol.
>>52332634
yes iso file works as live cd, to people who are curious, it works well with usb 2.0
>>52332634
The iso is a live system.
As far as I can tell, there is no way to install it, there is no option.
The webcam works, I can take pictures and videos. Screen brightness is very buggy when using the keyboard (flickers). FN keys do not seem to work.
>>52332637
how did you get it to boot, Mine only sits at check data partition and then says android with a blinking cursor
>>52332738
Is this in guest mode?
>>52334058
I think so
>>52333223
VM does not work, tested it then on my Lenovo T420 and it worked
>>52334076
Not >>52332637 , but does it work with AMD processors? I tried to boot the OS on my 1055t CPU, but it just gets stuck at that blinking underscore. Guess i must wait for official release.
>>52334241
not sure, T420 is an intel cpu
>>52331364
Good luck with your command line, shit package managers and broken dependencies. Linux/gnu doesn't work.
>>52334076
What did you use to boot that iso?
>>52334423
>shit package managers
Better than NO package managers.
>>52328478

>>52334473
>go on internet
>install easy to install .msi file
vs
>go on terminal
>try to install single program
>have to install 300 other dependencies for the program
Package managers are shit.
>>52334528
OK i will take the bait.
All you programs are shiped with dependences .dll so they are using useless space.
And there is anonther more importand thing for exaple there was bug in libpng, so all your programs are buged, and there is no way to easy uprage the library, like in linux apt-get update.
>>52334528
>have to install 300 other dependencies for the program
Better than Windows where 90% of the time the program has all the dependencies bundled whether or not you need them. You may like wasting bandwidth and storage space, but I don't.
>>52334591
But having the dependencies bundled means everything just werks. There can't be any problems related to differences in dependency versions.
>>52334574
On the other side of that, that means that bugs can also be introduced to programs that previously worked fine.
>>52334632
>But having the dependencies bundled means everything just werks.
Package managers also just werk. The difference is that they just werk in an efficient, secure, and convenient manner.
>>52334695
Actually, due to the dependencies being fetched separately, I've run into instances where a dependency updates to a version that is incompatible with the desired program, causing the desired program to not work.
>>52334649
That can happen. It does not happen often, though. And if it does happen, having a package manager makes it easy to roll back to a working version.
>>52334727
Or you can just not use a package manager and avoid the problem in the first place.
>>52334725
>I've run into instances where a dependency updates to a version that is incompatible with the desired program, causing the desired program to not work.
You get the same thing on Windows. The difference is that package managers offer a streamlined way to resolve dependency problems. You will run into problems either way, but without a package manager they're much harder to solve.
And that is the fault of the repos, not the package manager. Dependency problems are frequent on, say, Arch, but will almost never happen on Debian Stable.
>>52334794
But when the dependencies are pre-packaged in a dll with the program, dependency problems almost never occur except for with software ported from linux.
>>52334750
No, thanks. These problems are rare. If the price for the performance, security, and convenience of a package manager is a few hypothetical dependency problems, that's fine by me.
You get dependency problems on every OS. Package managers have the potential to cause dependency problems. However, they empirically do not cause very many.
>>52334838
>dependency problems almost never occur
Same goes for a package manager. Dependencies are almost always resolved with absolutely no problem.
>>52331732

Your dad...no seriously dad really wants that
Got it working on a Dell XPS15 l502x, although only guest mode seems to be working for now. Trackpad is way too sensitive to be used however but luckily you can change sensitivity in the settings menu.
