Have you got any stories of old hardware /g/?
>>
>>52326352

That's sexy, did they use it as a mail server?
>>
>>52326358
No. It's a hospital, and their old patient system never really got phased out completely apparently.
Rather it is run in tandem with the new system, both systems exporting some stuff back and forth.

2016 we still support FrontPage Extensions as well as SiteStudio, clients are also migrating to us, because of that.

I still need to use a 600MHz Pentium iii machine to get my tape library to run. Not super exciting, but I am not looking forwards to the day it dies.
>>
>>52330201
but it werks.

no reason to change it if it works
>>
>get introduced to credit carding system of large bank
>the whole system for generating new cards relies on a shitty pentium 2 PC running win2k which generates new keys or something

All look like they are running DOS or some old custom text-based interface. It's pretty fascinating.

>but it was getting cramped in there

>make a warning label that the printer emits ozone and that ozone is a toxic gas
>no jackets in there fridge is empty
>move everything out
>remove wall
>office now double the size
>a year later everything was installed, idiots were trained, and bugs sorted out
>error correcting was automated to some extent

You're memeing right?

They should upgrade to Blueray 4K boots because of the stunning and polished experience, am I rite?
>>
>>52330201
If it boots and it doesn't require any upgrades its not worth touching.
However its always worth to have an upgrade planm in wait.

>>52334254
Actually Cobol its a dated language and there's very few people that can understand it.
>>
>>52332676
Why the fuck would you try to greentext any of that you fucking faggy retard
>>
>>52326352
My company still runs simulations on a vax because they lost the source code for a tool but still had the compiled binaries.
