I've played around with Remix OS. It's ok. You can run Android apps in windows and resize them, drag them around your desktop. Nothing to write home about.
It's still better than ChromeOS, which is so gimped you can hardly do anything besides load up browser versions of Google services.

Remix OS's dirty secret is that you can't disable any system apps w/o root. And it doesn't come pre-rooted. That means you're stuck with the Google botnet permanently enabled unless you want to fuck with it.

Someone made Android usable on a pc. That's a pretty big deal. People have asked Google for that for years. Also, Chrome OS is garbage compared to Android in every way except security and usability on a pc.

hm, it's better than Chrome OS, but certainly less functional than OSX or Windows. Might be a good choice for a cheap chromebook, but it will be interesting to see if Android apps will work fluidly in a mouse environment as opposed to touch.
Android apps almost universally suck but Google Play has good variety, so that's really the main breath of life for this thing. Because if the apps don't work good, Linux/GNU + Gnome will be superior.
