ITT Post your phone

2 things you love about it

2 things you hate

I'll start:

LG G Stylo

Great Battery Life, very good performance with that 2 GB RAM

Screen has nice colors but the resolution is bad and it has like leakage all aroudn the sides of the screen

Body feels a bit cheap

Overall great phone for the $50 I paid for it
>>
Galaxy Note 4

Perfect size, the pen is pretty nifty for drawing when I'm not home (drawfag)
Battery life is pretty kickass, even under heavy use

Can't root the AT&T version (to my knowlege)
Touchjizz

I have the galaxy s6.
All around well balanced and we'll built phone.

Treated and maintained properly, this thing runs lightning fast and smooth. The specs are pretty impressive, the camera is nice and the display is BEAUTIFUL (although there are nicer ones out there).

No flashy features like the pen on the note or the curved screen. But to me that's not really important as long as it just werkz.

I DO hate how the battery is non removable and there is no expandable memory but at least the smallest variance comes with 32 gb storage soace, of which the OS currently uses around 9, leaving me with 23 gb of storage. Which, as long as you're not downloading movies and shit, that should be plenty. Besides there's no need for all that anyways since I mostly just use Spotify, Netflix, Chromecast and Kodi (sorry fruit phone users, kodi isn't available without jailbreak).

All in all, I don't feel the need to do anything too special to my phone like rooting it or anything. And now that Verizon supports WiFi Calling on the Samsung devices, I can litterally make a phone call anywhere.

Yes there are nicer phones, but I feel that this one is a very sexy and well balanced phone that anyone can get on board with.

No. Normal size phones are for normal size people. Anything smaller than a g4 is a waste especially now that phones aren't even mainly for calls, and anything larger fucks the bezels all up and ends up way to big to be worth it.

Kind of big, but not too much.
Blazing fast (previous phone was a Galaxy S2X)
No useless apps (except Google's).
Still gets updates from Google (so I don't feel the need to root).

Battery life is not much better than the old phone.
Non-removable battery.

Xperia Z5 here:

Really nice looking phone, it has that premium feeling, perfect screen size, near stock Android with 6.0 any moment now, stamina mode is BASED, snappy as fuck, finger print sensor is comfy, fast as fuck auto focus, front facing speakers, SD card slot and waterproof.

Sadly it overheats like crazy, stamina mode is great BUT if you don't enable it you get a Samsung/LG battery life at best, the screen isn't as pretty as the g4/g3, dogshit tier camera with 23mp meme, overpriced phone, no quick charge (Sony says it has buy it takes me 2-3hours to charge the thing), stuck with usb 2.0 I think, no dual led flash thing (like many flagship phones), finger print sensor fails A LOT.

desu senpai
>>
Samsung S6 Edge

Love the screen.

>>52309917 summarises my thought pretty well.

I wouldn't quite say I hate it, but it feels with edges or rather lack of them, that like I'm looking at a fish tank with the way the glass bends round.

Nay:

Have the same phone. Doesn't overheat much more than other phones do when under pressure. Camera is pretty nice but hope the software update will fix some issues. Charge time for me is 0-100% in about 50min, idk why it's so slow for you. And fingerprint sensor fails on every phone when fingers are shitty.

I've tested the G4 and it feels great in the hand. I currently have an S5 and it has a 5'' screen. I thought 5.5'' would be too big, but it's actually not a big jump from 5''.
>>
ASUS ZenFone 2 ze551ml

Bloatware, but mostly removable and some are useful

A bit big 5.5" but its fine in my jeans.

Droid turbo 2
Good
>I don't have to be careful with my phone or put a case on it.
>It has a car battery, so I don't have to charge it.
Bad
>it will never be rootable
>the stupid motherfucking "low battery" warning when you're at 15%. It has a sound that cannot be turned off unless you have your ringtone volume silenced. I get a bit autistic about sounds, E.g. If I'm in public and I hear keyboard sounds coming from someone's phone, I have to walk away. This probably isn't that big of a deal to most people in the world, but I hate it. On my galaxy s4, you could silence all system sounds, and that's the thing I miss the most about that phone.
>>

One Plus X

+ I get 4-6h SoT a day, and have never in these two months of owning this phone ran out of battery
+ It has great specs for the not-so-high price of 270€

- The camera is not that great. It's not a big deal for me, but something better would also be nice
- I still can't always hit the 'physical buttons' because they have no back lighting

Friend of mine ordered a Nexus 6P the moment they were available for order, but Huawei and FedEx fucked up the shipping - he called and cancelled it like 3 weeks later then ordered one directly from Google and they shipped it out in a day. He contacted them again about the refund for the first one he purchased and the Google rep put it through.

When he asked her what he should do if he got the original one which had seemingly been lost somewhere in FedEx's shipping service and the girl told him "If we refund your money and you do eventually get the phone devlivered by FedEx, well, Merry Christmas from Google because we won't charge you again."

He got the original Nexus 6P he ordered - frost white 128GB model - on his doorstep yesterday, that lucky bastard. Put it on craigslist for $600 cash in the hand unopened and sold it 2 hours later.

God dammit why doesn't stuff like that happen to me.

OnePlus Two

Love:
3000mAh battery (very long)
surprisingly high quality camera
didn't think I'd say this, but, OxygenOS
fingerprint scanner is the shit, really nice QoL security/unlock features

Don't like:
Whilst USB3.1 C/A reversability is nice, it's not at all commonly adopted. Had to buy extra cables to not faff with moving charger from bed/desk/portable (eg at uni/work charging)
the homescreen app icons are oddly large, even with system text & icons reduced to "small"
Large size & placement of the back button means sometimes it's hard to hit - sure I'm just holding the phone not optimally though

Pros: Almost everything (compared to my shitphone 520). No issues so far.

Only thing I really hate on the HTC is that it takes for ever to charge(2 1/2 hrs from 20-100%) but I think the charger I got with it doesnt support quickcharge so I gonna see how fast it gonna charge with one that has Quickcharge.

The obvious choice is the Note 5, if you're willing to deal with the risk of having an amoled screen and a phone with a layer of glass on the back. And of course no mSD card so you will have to think carefully about how much storage you need.

Same

ZenFone 2 ZE551ML

Pros:
battery life
Cheap/no contract
SIM/sd card
Big vivid 1080 screen

Cons:
Black screen during calls (my fault. Wrong screen protector)
A bit too much bloat. Some are a nice touch.
Camera doesn't live up to the demo shots (barely use it though)

All in all of buy it a second time if this one craps out. Originally it was a little baggy. Updates fixed a lot.

6S Plus, literally got it 2 days ago, came from a N5 I've had since that came out

Good:
Coming home with 70% battery is amazing
Vibration on it feels really fucking solid

Bad:
A lot of iOS features are unintuitive/inconsistent in implementation, especially with the 3D touch, why can't I peek messages from the notification center? That seems obvious

Home button is too audibly clicky.

Otherwise it's a really great phone and since it's jailbroken I can basically do everything I could do on my Nexus 5. Also Apple has a really nice ecosystem set up with their shit so being able to reply to texts and answer calls from my computer is nice.

Everything. Some say it is underpowered because if the older snapdragon and 720p screen but they both contribute to much longer battery life than even flagships will ever come close to getting. Best $160 I ever spent.

Phone feels nice without case but with my job, it is only a matter of time before I drop and break this thing.

Case selection is rather limited. Would have LOVED a zerolemon battery case for this thing. It is honestly one of the things making me consider the the LG G4.

Eh whatever. At least there is root and recovery for this thing. Eventually ROMs will start popping up. Hoping cyanogenmod is one of them.

Never had issues with the digitiser on mine, but it's having a few other issues, namely the camera and the battery.
Assuming the camera app doesn't outright crash on me, autofocus only works like 1/4 of the time, and not at all if flash is enabled, as well as pictures being a lot worse quality than they were when I got the phone.
As for the battery, I only get like 2-3 hours of screen on time, and it drops >>all<< connections if it goes below 15% battery. SIM card gets dropped, radio gets dropped, can't even make emergency calls. Below 15% battery it is roughly as useful as a paperweight.

Shit sucks, I don't want to replace it because there's literally nothing that appeals to me on the market right now, and if the current trends keep up there probably never will be either.

Moto X 2014

The specs are at the diminishing returns sweet spot, I think. Snapdragon 800, 1080p amoled, 2g of RAM, a battery that gets through the day. What else do you really need for Android?
I got it used for a great price, in a sweet custom blue.

It's bad for Google Cardboard because of the amoled pixel layout, some slight burn in from being used, which cardboard magnifies, and sensor drift (Don't use Google Cardboard unless you're sure your phone doesn't drift, its awful)

And the audio quality from the DAC is fucking TRASH. It makes me miss my iPhone.

The N4 digitiser becomes nonfunctional when the screen gets damaged; I got a tiny (<0.5cm chip) in the side of the screen on the bezel but it completely ruined the touchscreen for the whole phone. Ridiculous.

I found if the camera wasn't focusing, force quitting the camera app & restarting it would fix the issue

Newly installed apps always only ever go to the 2nd page onwards, never on the first page. so if you want to see your background you can clear out the 1st page.

Widgets are in the notification centre. The opposite of Android i guess.

Tire's lots of popular apps on the app store that allow you to change the apps they open with.

Eg Fantastical lets you choose what app you want maps to open in. Lots of others let you choose what browser you want sites to open in. There's just no system wide setting, but i assume it will come at the same time that Siri is opened up to 3rd party apps

>One M8

Bought one like 3 months ago. Got an amazing deal on it. Agree with everything you said.

Adding:

+While they're the laziest fucking devs out there (i'll be old when EUSSR M8 finally gets marshmallow), Sense UI is breddy gud. They've finally added expanded theme support and it's very customisable even without having to add some half-assed launcher on top.
+ very well optimized. Never had a hitch, lag or crash (but I guess the crashing depends on the apps themselves)
+the default browser is faster than every other brouser I tested.
+The gunmetal one looks brilliant. Does not collect fingerprints, is very sturdy and it's cut perfectly. My brother's Iphone 6 looks cheaper on a side-by-side comparison.
+One of the best displays out there. Inb4 muh AMOLED - it's shit, the oversaturation makes it look ridiculous and you get display burn spots after 1 year of use.

-The aluminium is resistent but it collects tiny scratches from every hard surface it's slid on. They're hardly noticeable in the gunmetal grey version but it's still annoying to have to use some foil or one of those translucent phone condom covers.
-The cameras are meh (I heard, I can't fucking tell, I don't know/care about cameras and photography)
-The sexy design means no removable battery - which stinks if you happen to want to use it for 2+ years.
- FUCKING HUGE CHIN. These taiwachinks insist on putting up their logo under the screen instead of having some dignity and leaving it on the back cover only. Adding the dual speaks the fucking thing made it look long like a tampon.
- LACK of capacitve buttons. This is a personal peev. I hate the virtual shit buttons. It takes precious screen space and it's annoying when you have to bring them out of hiding. The One M7 had buttons why the fuck did they remove them.

Nova launcher is worth installing instead of using Sense. Sense if not that bad, but you can customise more with Nova.

I normally use the jelly case that came in the box, so my M8 looks as good as new now. Not even one scratch. It's too slippery a phone to carry without a case anyway.

The fast video HD shooting seems to be working decently enought to be usable, but colour accuracy is off.

Yeah, I bought an LCD phone precisely because I didn't want to get an amoled and then regret wasting 600 bucks on a phone which gets burn in.

Try the ChromeDev browser, it's the fastest browser on android I could find. And I tried lots of them.

Yeah well, the chin and the extra height is due to HTC having to fit the speakers and some other components in there. I guess it's a trade-off for having such awesome speakers. It doesn't bother me a lot, since 5 inch seems really small for me, when I bought it I was hoping it would be closer to the Note 4 in size, but it's actually just a medium size phone, feels not big enough.

LG G3

Pros

5.5 inch QHD display. Kinda small but still pretty awesome.

Battery lasts up to 4.5 hours of screen on time.

Comes with some really useful software features (double tapping to sleep/wake)

Having the headphone jack on the bottom

Pretty good performance (compared to my last phone (nexus 5))

Removable back plate allowing expandable storage and battery replacement.

I love not having any buttons on the sides. Back buttons are so much better because you'll never accidentally press them.

Cons

That fucking curved back I fucking hate it so much. The phone wobbles and spins all over the place when I'm doing anything and it makes the phone harder to hold and adjust position while in my hands and the phone is fucking slippery as fuck it always slides out of my pockets. I wish it was flat.

The OS is nothing like stock Android. I absolutely hate the notification tray and how you have to swipe down and then up to see them. It's insanely annoying. Also I hate that you can't see all your notifications on the lock screen because my fucking pattern lock is in the way to hide them. Why can't it just be like how it is on stock Android where you swipe up to get to the lock it makes so much fucking sense because it allows you to see your notifications on the lock screen. 80% of times I turn my phone on I only intend to read my notifications and not unlock my phone.

The phone sometimes will heat up to insane temperatures especially right behind the power button.

The buttons on the back are flush with the phone and are stupidly annoying to try and find. I want there to be a distinct edge between the back of the phone and the buttons on the back. The buttons should be recessed.

There's no flashlight toggle that can be added to the drop down tray.

PS. I'm going to root my phone tomorrow. And also I'm buying a nexus 6p next month.

Nexus 5X

Good looking phone
Fingerprint scanner is really quick and in a good spot

Pretty laggy
No sd slot

Overall I am kinda disappointed and regret that I didn't grab the 6p or maybe the LG V10

Lives longer than any other smartphone

GREAT UI

Some Android apps don't work (one app)

Can't find the second flaw.

Galaxy S5

Micro SD slot
Great battery life
Screen resolution that doesn't appeal to retarded sheep and still looks perfect
Literally never slows down

Loaded with vague bloatware that can't be removed unless rooted

what carrier do you have

i can't fucking root my at&t s5
>>
BlackBerry Q10

+ god tier keyboard. It is really the best one so far (not my first phone from this company);
+ build quality

- battery;
- considering the fact that some of us like to use the same phone for a few years, wireless charging is a must have and yet not available on this phone;
- amoled. Fuck that shit even on this size.
>>
HTC one m8

Runs things fine, pretty powerful for what I need. Ie. Shortposting, social media, maps, browsing

Battery life is mediocre to shit at best.

Metal body marks up a lot even tho I have it in a case 90% of the time
>>
BQ M5

Great Battery, performance and screen

Company is slow with updates, not ugly, but not stylish and overheats a bit

My g3 screen had come unstuck in the middle twice now. Looking at it from the side and pressing on the screen you can see it doesnt sit flush with the bezel. Anyone elses do that?
>>
Nexus 6p

I love the speed of the device and the operating system (and ability to root)
I love the size of the screen and thin body.

I hate no removable battery or SD
And I hate how hot the battery gets sometimes. However there is no throttling which I love.
>>
>>52330530
>Battery life is mediocre to shit at best.
Idk what you expected. It's not shit on my m8. Depends on many factors and how you use the phone. If you game a lot or watch a lot of vids on it, it will drain faster. Also, if your phone signal is very bad where you're living, this will drain the batter faster, becasue it's using more power to stay connected.

>Metal body marks up a lot even tho I have it in a case 90% of the time
You must be very careless. This doesn't happen on mine.

Blackberry Passport
+the massive screen is great for reading documents, browsing, and generally everything you might need to do
+it's essentially compatible with anything that doesn't use Google services. In fact, why the fuck doesn't blackberry sell APKs in their store?

-the death of a thousand cuts due to stupid decisions which do not break the phone (they calculator is mapped upside-down to the keyboard, or how the paste, copy, and cut need the system to deem what you are touching to be writing, for example), and you can't adjust any of these niggling shits
-the cameras are extremely erractic, sometimes giving amazing pics while others shitting the bed so bad you can't see shit
-no fucking cursor and no custom gestures/quickkeys: what's the point of making the best input device ever if all I can do with it can be done in the touchscreen?!

Phone: OnePlus One

Good:
- Screen Size and Res (5.5", 1080*1920), great for content consumption
- 3GB RAM and other spec, Runs good enough for me

Bad
- Dented the edges while drunk (Worth it tho)
- camera could be better

Have a OnePlus One. But desu now I would go for a nexus. Due to early OS upgrades, stock android, and good battery.
>>
>>52313045
Don't pay attention to sot, but it easily lasts two days of use for me. My last device was nexus 4, and I couldn't count on it lasting the day.

Keyboard

Hate:

I love more about it than I hate, desu

not trolling here, but explain, how is the KB a lovable feature? it's just bloody touchscreen like every other keyboard out there ever

I personally hate the iPhone keyboards. Numbers and punctuation take too long to input as opposed to certain android keyboards. I also despise the autocorrect
>>
HTC m8

>>
Nexus 6P

Love the screen. Crisp and clear colours. Battery life is good with good power management.

Phone is a phablet so one handed use is not recommended. Gets hot as fuck from use.
>>
>>52331988
due to the screen being tiny on all but the 6s plus, almost every apply product has the thinnest keys ever. autocorrect is essentially nonfunctional.
hate how it doesn't have long presses or usable punctuation as well

they do have the best emojis, though (very normie)
>>
>>52331957
I hate touch screen keyboards, but pretty much every smart phone has them. I don't use swipe or anything, so I always LOATHED the android keyboards (even third party ones). The iPhone keyboard is just so much more precise and accurate. Of course, I'd still prefer a physical, tactile keyboard, but it's easily the best touchscreen keyboard I've ever used. The only people I've met who love the android keyboard use swipe.

I can say the same, except for my inability to understand why when I attempt rooting the stock rom doesn't work and just makes it unbootable.

Also, gotta love the easily unlockable bootloader.

HTC One M7.

Like:
-Fucking indistructable. Had it for almost 3 years and have never had a case, dropping it CONSTANTLY and it's still working in perfect condition.

-Call quality is decent with speakerphone which has been an issue with past phones I've had

Dislike:
-Camera is dog shit like all HTC models, apparently.
-No expandable memory so I can't fit all my music so I just have to carry an MP3 player with me if I want music.
>>
>>52312679
This is my father's phone. I always hated how big it is, but I really like its speakers

LG V10. Got it about 2 months ago. Fucking awesome phablet or whatever it's called. Had a note 4 prior and went to Verizon intending to get the note 5. No sd card and no removable battery killed that for me. The LG rep was like oh really? Well get this and get a free battery and a 200 gb sd card. Ninja what? Took like a month to get it.
Like: just about everything. Took some getting used to for the back buttons but now I actually prefer it. Great processor. 3gb ram. And the camera and pic quality is unmatched. Shoots 4k video but a 6 min video was like 1.5gb so I see why the free 200fb sd card.
Dislikes: the only thing I can say bad is sometimes it gets laggy when I have a bunch of apps open. When I close them all it acts right again tho. All in all its the best phone I've had. After reading reviews I'm glad I didn't get the note 5.
>>
iPhone 6s Plus
Pros
Battery life especially after coming from Samsung
Optimized apps and operating system
Cons
Screen size to phone size ratio is not ideal
Jailbreak needed to customize (not a big deal but it's keeping me at 9.0.2 instead of 9.2)

S6 here

The good: All around excellent balance. Performs great, great camera, best Samsung software experience I've ever had, great build quality although the metal chamfer is... Dirty, which is weird.

The bad: battery. That's my only complaint. I can live with it being integrated. I don't care about MicroSD since I prefer a secondary device for all my media needs anyways (currently a note 2 with cyanogen 12.1 on it) but the battery life is just... I guess i just expect more from a 14nm SoC and software optimization. I've done a lot to improve it but it's just so inconsistent. Sometimes it's like 5 hours sot and 21 hours on but sometimes it's like 2.5 hours sot and 14 hours on.

I'm getting my battery replaced under warranty but I'm not expecting a huge increase.

bad:

Speakers work with Dolby sound technology. It's a fact that 6" it's not a very common screen size but once I've tried it I'm not coming back to 5" or even less.

LG G4:
Camera's nice.
Battery life lasts goddamn forever, get between 2.5-3 days on one charge

Buttons on the back are kind of annoying, wish they were more traditional.
Kind of wish the screen was AMOLED.
