I created this build for casual browsing, gaming, and video editing/encoding. What would you change?

Also, PC part picker thread.

You didnt pick a single thing that you should need.
If you want to waste $1500 then buy what you have
>>
System could be better if the money wasn't wasted on dumb areas.
>>
>>52281623
I want to be able to play games at 4k. I will certainly require at least some of these components.

>>52281704
Okay, what you change then?
>>
>>52281552
There's nothing wrong with it, certainly not the most value oriented build but that's alright.

When I built my system I was thinking hardcore gaming and your cpu cooler is more expensive than my cpu.
>>

If it's not $500 or less, fuck off.
>>
Fast enough for your purposes and significantly cheaper

Casual browsing, not casual gaming. Sorry, fucked up the wording there.
>>
>>52285672
True, but the WD Red Pro has a lower failure rate and supposedly it's pretty quiet for a 7200RPM HD.

Take most of the shit off of there that you dont need and get an 8gb gpu then

Spending that much money might as well put in a 950 pro.

Nano r9 is better.
Also this is not a casual build.. This is a "LOOK HOW MUCH I CAN SPEND! WOO! FUCK YEAHHH" build.
>>
>>52288068
You're right, this isn't supposed to be a casual build. For the life of me, I don't know why I listed "casual browsing."

I might look for an alternative method to acquire Windows.

The GPU is mostly for gaming, but I figure it should be able to handle most of the video editing projects I throw at it.

>>52288026
Not a bad idea, but I can always buy another SSD later if I feel like I need it.

RAM and CPU cooler are not compatible, get ram without huge heatsinks that sticks up.

Get another SSD for RAID0 so your projects load in the blink of an eye.

Case is edgy-teen-transformer-tier gayness. I'd get something more sleek and clean. But whatever floats your boat.

I hope the monitor is IPS.

>>52288397
>>52287793
how is he supposed to be able to do anything at 4k when the monitor is only half that resolution?
>>
>>52288397
Okay. Let me restate.

Good call on the monitor, I'll change it.
>>
>>52281552
Get a 4TB WD green and shut the intellispin off using the utility.
Drops $50.
Skylake is a flop. Dump it.
Get a haswell-e 5820 cpu. They have fantastic overclocks and better stock performance than skylake.
Use wired ethernet, cheap, absolutely reliable
Pirate windows
Max you should spend on a mouse is $20, logitech G300 served me well
Liquid cooling, temps drop faster after load lets up, throws heat directly out of case instead of recirculating portions of it
Seasonic has god tier PSUs for cheap, my 500W is still alive after six years, produces no discernible heat output.

Got no clue on the mech keyboards but that's a fuckload of cash for a keyboard...

Monitor is hella expensive, better produce nice color.
I prefer clarity of motion and high frame rates, hacky lightboost on a refurbished Acer GN246HL

unless it's an original IMI 3.0, fucking kill yourself. i bet you play fucking farmville-tier games

i'm building a similar build, in a simlar price range soon.
i would recommend going an M.2 ssd, 2.5gbps is nuts. Also drop the wifi card, spend the extra on a better motherboard that has dual ethernet and a wifi card included.

Pic related.
Also, have done different builds with the 2011-3 Haswell e chipset, still undecided though. Probably going towards the skylake, purely because of higher ddr4 clocks, less power, etc.
No gfx card as i already have a 980.

GTFO APPLE SHILL

Thats the spirit bro.
Win7.iso from the Windows Website, then dazloader and if you want Upgrade.

But dont pay that much money
>>
>>52288915
or you could just uninstall the spyware updates...
>>
>>52281552
That cpu is overpriced
>>
>>52288967
I will consider this as an second Option.
Thanks
>>
>>52281552
Casual gaming usually doesn't include a dedicated graphics card, a stupidly overpriced gaming motherboard, or aa $200 case PSU combo. Also, those won't help in your video work. Wireless tech changes awfully fast, it's stupid to spend that much on an internal wireless card. Get a decent 802.11n usb adaoter for $20. Why spend that much on a mouse? Especially that mouse. You monitor, ssd and optical drive choices are probably fine.
>>
>>52287793
>Casual browsing, not casual gaming
>>52289217
Ahh makes more sense now.

Still, that CPU chiller, mobo, case and PSU are stupidly overpriced, and won't help at all.
>>
>>52288750
None.

DDR3 to DDR4 traded more speed for more latency and effectively negated all possible gains.
DDR3 1600-1866MHz at CL9 is where you hit the wall.
>>
>>52288967
Or you can just disable auto Windows updates...
>>
>>52290326
Alright, I guess I'll look into a Haswell build then.
