I'm curious. What's Microsoft's selling point on Windows 8/10? I'm borrowing a friends computer right now and using 8. The only thing different from 7 is the start menu is gone and replaced with a few tiles of programs I don't use and advertisements. That and the control panel is as closed to hidden as possible. Performance wise it is identical.
I'm saving up my money for a new desktop. I don't see any reason why I shouldn't make it a Core 2 quad, with pci passthrough, one dirt cheap gpu, and one medium power gpu. I don't see any reason why I shouldn't run linux with a VM running windows on a pci passthrough for gaymen.
