How does /g/ hide their lewd pics?
Not from the police or anything, I don't want to have to extract and decrypt and archive everytime I need to access them, rather how do I hide them from prying friends and family?
Not many layers. Just rename the folder to some sort of data looking file like SENT_DATA and stick that in the folder of some sort of ren'py game that I never play.

Flexible and simple, you can put everything into a real partition, a file, a raid array, some partition on a remote NAS... whatever you like.

This is generally a bad idea, but it might be better to have a more secure OS viewing / mounting these things. Irrelevant to your problem of friends / family snoops, though. Dude, just use VeraCrypt and be done with it.
Change the folder name to HYBERFIL.SYS or something ominous like that and change its icon to the one that looks like a blank piece of paper.

First: setup a internal sata hard drive of varying capacity and make it hotswappable through the uefi/bios.
Second: move porn to the hard drive. Enjoy.
Third: when finished, remove sata data connector from hard drive to hide all porn.

You gotta use them alternate streams if your using NTFS. Basically NTFS file can have multiple "streams" for a file, which are hard to access except for the primary data stream because almost no native windows tools except powershell really can access it. People would have to be actively searching your computer very very carefully to find that shit.
