YIFY had a much larger selection. They released something like 3000 movies for fuck's sake. When one wanted to watch a movie with friends (whose native language isn't English obviously) there were two options:
1. Quickly download YIFY, load embedded subtitles, run.
2. Carefully select better quality encode, wait for a longer time, then browse opensubtitles to look for a sub whose name hopefully matches that of the release, and failing that (which happened pretty much all the time), select a subtitle at random, load it into the movie, press different points of the movie to get some dialogues, check if they were synchronized, failing that (which happened a lot) download another one, after two many tries and friends are wondering what's going on, put one and try to reduce the offset between dialogue and subs only to realize 15 minutes later that the speed of both movie and subs aren't identical and they are constantly desyncing so you have to it over and over again at which point people just get bored and want a dubbed version or something, ruining the experience for everyone forever.

I just leave it on all the time. It's fantastic with 720p/1080p content when up-scaling on my 1440p panel.
I use Lanczos 4tap + Anti-Ringing filter for upscaling, NNEID3 32 Neuron chroma upscaling and NNEID3 64 Neurons for doubling the Luma resolution. I see an improvement, especially with lower res content, but it becomes less obvious the higher quality content you download.

Yes, we have. Just grab movies from public trackers, DDL, and other private trackers. Upload them to get upload and buffer. Fill requests to get even more buffer. Keep in mind that if you are a retard who thinks the only movies that exist are Transformers and the Avengers, you won't be smart enough to find indie, foreign, arthouse, or other obscure movies to upload, which are the easiest to put on PTP.
That's pretty much it. There's no magic bullet. You have to put in the work.
