4chan looks better than just about every other modern website to be quite honest with you family.
Why ? Because it isn't bloated with bullshit. It's simple and to the point. It has content, the content is easily readable, and the site fits on whatever shitty screen size you view it on.
This is what a website needs. What a website doesn't need, however, is shitty animations, huge ugly fonts, bloated javascript code, 500 different shitty banners, and other shitty "modern" bullshit.
Imageboards are an example of great webdesign.
