Remember 3D printers, /g/? Everyone thought it was going to be EVERYWHERE by now but here we are, with another dead fad.

Convince me that VR wont follow the same path.

You must be living in an alternate reality OP, 3D printers are increasingly popular. Some consumer electronics stores has even begun selling them here in my country.
>>
>>52254598
They're everywhere though. My school has a couple of them you can use for free.

Anything come out of that country that I should know about? Your father was a fisherman yeah?
>>
What rock do you live under? 3D printers are getting more popular and useful by the year. They've realistically been working until they were cheap and fast, they're fairly cheap now.
>>
>>52254859
>What rock do you live under?
I live in a major city in america
>>
>>52254844
>Anything come out of that country that I should know about?
We have shitload of oil money that we are currently investing in R&D instead because the oil price is so ridiculously low. Historically we have been in the front with many technological advances, we were the second nation to join ARPAnet for example and some Norwegians made protocols for GPRS that are in use by all the world's cell phones today. Also a couple of Norwegians invented OOP, although I suspect that you will say this is a bad thing rather than good.

>Your father was a fisherman yeah?
My father works in IT and is a devop.
>>
>>52254844

Home 3D printers are rare, but 3d printers are fucking great for DIY projects and prototyping. And that's exactly what they're being used for. Just because they aren't in most people's homes doesn't mean they're even close to dead.

>>52254653

You are not a smart man. Leave this thread.

sounds like you've made jack shit. Do you even produce any unique cars? LOL fucking norwegians let me tell you

>My father works in IT and is a devop.
so he attempts to make fishing tech? LOL

Yes, Buddy, Think and Troll.

Nice meme. No, he works in shipping and logistics.

No, 3D printers are everywhere. It's just the shitty hobbyists filament printers which suck.

I'll spoon feed, you son.

1. Whatever is popular, it needs to appease the masses. VR media consumption porn and video games will appease kids and adults alike.

2. VR will get cheaper and cheaper, just like how smart phones got cheaper and cheaper. It needs to be affordable to the plebs.

Every time a Norwegian takes the bait without fail. It's fun as hell watching you guys come up with stuff your country or countrymen has invented/done and you only come up with insignificant shit or it turns out you were only 10% part of it.
>>
>>52254598
The whole concept was retarded.

Mass production is way cheaper than printing out items one by one.

I can buy plastic items from China for a couple of euro's and have them shipped to my home for free.
No home appliance is going to compete with that.
>>
>>52254839
>Didn't know SFU used tax money.
Is your own ignorance now a base for an argument?
>>
>>52254891
Considering the worst kinds of people are brought up in big cities that's no surprise.
>>

Just because you don't want to pay $2000+ to print little toy trinkets doesn't mean other don't have a use for them. They're extremely cost effective for rapid prototyping small parts and small scale production.

Yes, "the every home will have one" was all marketing. VR won't follow the same route because it's not prohibitavely expensive and the intended market already have a use case, porn and gaems, a much bigger market than little trinkets

They're not for home use, I've only ever once had to use one and I'm not one of the "lol next steve jobs" start up fags who constantly follow every fad, but they have their uses (mainly for prototyping) and are far from dead.

I'll only ever buy one if they can print organic material tho

VR has been a dead fad since the 80s. maybe even before that, if you count things like faggot 'pagans' doing astral projection. indeed, it's been dead since the occult was a meme invented by booksellers to drive sales.

tl;dr everything is a meme

Look, I don't care that you break the rules and come here. I probably would have too if I'd had the Internet when I was your age. Literally the first thing I ever did, when I got my first dialup modem, and got online for the first time, was to look for some pictures of some titties, so I can relate. I'm sure almost everyone else can too. But do try to pass yourself off as a big boy a little better. It's creepy as fuck knowingly interacting with some underage faggot on a site like this.

>just because he can't see them in the news; it's dead
of course you won't see them in use if you sit home and browse 4chanz kiddo
