I accept our Google overlords.

I would willingly hand over all my data to them for superior free services and infrastructure improvements rather than getting it stolen by Microsoft, Apple, or the government.

It's 2016, its time to side with a botnet.

Meh, kinda agree here, I see them as a lesser evil.

Also, I've been using gmail since beta, so they already have most of my information anyway..

>>52245508
>or the government.
Handing data to Google - or any of the other big platforms - is handing it to the government.
>>
>>661508591
Part of that is true. I do wish she was hotter, however I'm not going to let one attribute bring the whole thing down. I've been with her for a while and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I was wondering if other people feel this way too. >>52245628
Yeah, but its via Google. So I get all the perks.
>>
It's no longer a matter of "is it botnet?" It's a matter of "what quality of software am I getting in exchange for my loss of privacy?"
>>
Google have the best security team on the planet. I'd rather them have my data than one of the other giants.

After all, it is important to THEM. They're not going to let others just have it.
>>
>>52246657
imo google is too big to fail already

I doubt many people would switch even if there was a major security breach at their servers
>>
>being a brand loyalist

Why haven't you learned yet /g/?

Just get the best possible product.
>>
>>52246678
People may not switch but it is still bad for their business.
It could make getting new partners harder, getting more businesses on board. And the data is important for their core business, advertising. If that data got out it could harm their advertising revenue, even if people didn't leave.

No, they're going to protect that data like they're Scrooge McDuck.

>that feel when you shit in your designated shitting street but it turns out to be the microsoft tech support center and you get fired
>>
>>52246723
well what's your point?

The same thing applies to hotmail and iCloud, probably even more so because they're not as established as gmail and related google services and thus have more to lose.

And other than the pseudo-incident for apple/icloud (which wasn't a security breach, only missing anti-bruteforce mechanism), nothing happened to those two either

People who are afraid of Google, Microsoft, Apple, etc. are the same kinds of people who come up with conspiracy theories about every single event in history. They are irrational and their ideas incite instability and division. Luckily their kind is declining.

As fear of corporate-government of partnerships declines, we move closer and closer to a more safe and secure society.

it's kind of funny to imagine how the world is literally ruled by people who create powerpoint slides like this

Modern Japan still has an authoritarian government with very clear involvement in the economy and pretty much all aspects of life. Not many holocausts going on there these days. Same in South Korea which has a surveillance state more intense than that of the US. Singapore is another example, as are Hong Kong and Taiwan. All of which are highly stable and prosperous places.

On the other hand, Weimar Republic had no surveillance state to deal with the rise of radical nationalism. Tsarist Russia had no surveillance state to deal with the rise of radical communism. If they did, communist and nazi organizations would have been stopped in their tracks.
>>
>>52247060
It's quite sad actually. But the world is ruled by large banking systems rather than the governmental organizations.

I'm not even from the US. Beats me.

Hitler was literally working for the surveillance agencies when he first found the national socialists.

>Apple
Fuck that, Apple is the one company I still borderline trust[1] not to spy on me. When you're selling vast quantities of hardware with huge markups, you don't *need* to sell personal info too.

[1] Meaning I don't actually trust them implicitly since they're still a large American corporation, but rather than I consider them a relatively far safer choice than, say, Google.
>>
>>52249577
Nigger are you dumb of course they are selling your data, what you think just cause they're making money in phones that they're not making more on data selling? Kek
