I call bullshit, all the supercomputers in the TOP500 wouldn't even come close to this..

>>
>>52242679
It wouldn't show the gorillion CPUs. It's a bunch of networked computers. Each node is beefy, but not THAT beefy. Any node would just look like a beefy workstation, not a supercomputer.

There are computers from SGI that have >1000 cores running one instance of Linux. If I wanted to show off, I'd use one of them.

All money is imaginary. It's not like paper money has value because of the paper. Hell, even gold is only valuable because people generally agree it is.

moot managed to convince someone to pay good money for an antique Pakistani doorhandle collectors messageboard, ffs.

Bitcoin mining is 100% integer. FLOPS is a VERY poor way of estimating how much bitcoin you could mine.

Yeah

>>
>>52243424
Technically you are correct, but government backed currencies have a powerful entity and a global trading system saying that they are worth something, whereas Bitcoin (when it was young) had nothing. It's pretty cool that it grew into a global community that says it has worth.
>>
>>52243459
That's nonsense. Bitcoin uses ASICs. The network is vastly faster than the Top500 supercomputers AT MINING BITCOIN, but is literally useless for anything else.

Then anarchy breaks out as there will be no police. They go broke transporting that monster and then go millions into debt when they turn it on. This is how to fuck the police.
